I heard a little of the discussion about immigration. Blitzer asked how the bill is not amnesty, and they trotted out stuff about how these people are not going to receive instant citizenship. Basically, the same stuff we hear from Republicans who are for this bill with the exception that they believe it might be “too tough” on the illegals...

I made a comment the other day on a thread that I think is a pretty valid point — if the punishment for illegal immigrants who have perpetrated ID Fraud/Theft & Tax Evasion isn’t the same (or worse) as what U.S. Citizens receive for the same crimes then it is indeed Amnesty no matter what spin you put on it...
