Info From Drug Dealer Grounded JFK Terror Plot

POSTED: 3:08 pm EDT June 3, 2007 UPDATED: 3:25 pm EDT June 3, 2007 NEW YORK -- The question was simple: "Would you like to die as a martyr?" The putative terrorist unhesitatingly replied yes -- there was no greater way to die in Islam.

The right answer put the man in the midst of a terrorist plot conceived as more devastating than the 9/11 attacks. He was soon making surveillance trips around John F. Kennedy International Airport -- the "chicken farm," as the planners dubbed their target -- and visiting the Trinidad compound of a radical Muslim group.

On Saturday, the insider -- a twice-convicted drug dealer -- was revealed as a government informant whose surreptitious work undermined a plot to destroy the Queens airport by exploding a jet fuel pipeline. The case demonstrated the growing importance of informants in the war on terrorism, particularly as smaller radical groups become more aggressive.

"Al-Qaida is a philosophy now," Police Commissioner Ray Kelly said Sunday on CBS' "Face The Nation," explaining the spread of terrorism beyond geographic boundaries. "... It's a movement. It's a philosophy. And they're motivated by the same hatred that motivates al-Qaida."

The sooner the Democrats accept this, the better.

This “home grown” terrorist language is both annoying and misleading. These bozos were born abroad. The USG issued them immigrant or temporary visas or they would not have been here, in a position to do us harm. Ditto the Fort Dix terrorists, although three of those foreign terrorists apparently entered through Mexico, without visas.
Why do we still issue visas to foreign Muslims? This is madness.

How about that?

Proves something I've believed for several years now.

Your run-of-the-mill scumbag drug dealer is more patriotic than the average journalist.

Islam is not compatible with our Judeo-Christian society. Any muslims not born here should be deported as expeditiously as possible. Islam should not be accorded any constitutional rights or privileges under the First Amendment inasmuch as it is not a religion, in the established sense, but rather a political ideology which considers murder a sacrament. Religions celebrate life; islam celebrates death.

I meant that one does not need direct AQ contacts to be considered a real threat. Islamo-Fascists are everywhere, not just from Afghanistan.

Last year, informants played a major role in two other terror cases. In June 2006, an informant posing as an al-Qaida operative helped bring down a plot to blow up the Sears Tower. Five of the seven men arrested in that alleged terrorist group were U.S. citizens. And in May 2006, an NYPD informant's testimony led to the conviction of a man plotting to blow up the busy Herald Square subway station in midtown Manhattan.

It is only a matter of time before a plot is hatched where there is not an informant. The statement that we have not been hit again since 9/11 is not dumb luck is just dumb. Soon our luck will run out. Why do these big conspiracies always happen when my kids are out roaming the country?

Last night CNN said that although the feds had broken up this three-man gang, they were working on another, much larger terrorist plot threat....(no details of that one). And yet authorities said if the JFK plot had worked, the devastation would have been unimaginable.

Kudos to the drug dealer patriot.

On subsequent thought, not just a patriot, a hero. It takes a big set to do undercover work like this. We owe this man our gratitude. He took big risks for us.
