A letter signed by the Mahdi Army linked to Moqtada al-Sadr, the radical Iraqi Shiite cleric who the United States considers the greatest threat to security in Iraq, warned Christian women in Baghdad to wear the veil as do Muslim women. It is the latest in a long string of abuses against Iraqi Christians, including rape, murder, kidnapping, extortion and forced conversions, AsiaNews reported Wednesday.
The letter, an English translation of which was published by Aina news agency Wednesday, said "Was the Virgin Mary (peace be upon her) unveiled so that Christian women be allowed to be unveiled? Was Fatima al-Zahra unveiled? And were the wives of the Caliphs in the First Caliphate or others unveiled? No, and then no ... Allah forbid and far be it from all of them." It then warns "She is an adulteress, and she even proclaims sinfulness, challenges and fights Allah and his Prophet and ignores and neglects religion."
Answering the question "What measure should be taken against a woman who disobeys her father, husband, or her guardian by not committing to the legal veil?" the letter said husbands and fathers "must guide and educate her religiously in order to convince her. If she is not convinced still, then they must imprison her at home and do not expose her to the forbidden interaction with men." Finally, it warns "special committees have been established to follow up on this matter."

I voted for him in the primary, but he lost unfortunately.
“against Iraqi Christians, including rape, murder, kidnapping, extortion and forced conversions,”
Perhaps the pro/con Mormon debates on FR should be redirected. Mormons do not pose any such threat.
I'll just repeat the question of others:
Why does this criminal asylum escapee from the 8th century still have a pulse?
I ask myself the selfsame question often...
Followed immediately by "Who might I have voted for that might have been elected that might have done better?
Dunno....but if he comes near me, I'm ready for him. ;-)
Let's just go back to 2002 and think about what Iran must have been thinking during the U.S. preparations for the invasion of Iraq. If someone had approached the Iranian government and suggested that within five years the following conditions would be in place . . .
1. Iraq's Ba'athist government overthrown
2. Saddam Hussein executed
3. A new Shi'ite-dominated government in place in Iraq
4. The U.S. utterly incapable of mounting a serious military campaign anywhere in the Middle East
5. The ruling party in the U.S. government thrown out of office
6. Iran's biggest export (oil) trading at historic high prices
7. (As a result of #6) Iran's nuclear program accelerated.
. . . I suspect nobody in Iran's government would have believed you. They couldn't have done any better if they had placed their own agents in position of power in the U.S. government.
Did Mohammad have good manners so that his followers oculd be pigs ~ apparantly so.
See #46. Anyone whose incompetence has contributed to that debacle would be a prime candidate, in my book.
Starting with those airline Mullahs who are suing passengers who pointed out their unusual activities upon boarding a flight. The whole purpose of that was to INTIMIDATE future passengers from reporting on unusual activities on air flights. To me this is the same as terroristic activity.
