War On Terror: The 9/11 hijackers are known to have flown cross-country routes to test airline security before the attacks. Now there is evidence of others doing similar dry runs.

And once again, Washington has been caught napping. Homeland Security officials failed to report a group of Middle Eastern men acting suspiciously aboard a Northwest Airlines flight three years ago.

I am sure we are probing them at gitmo, and at other undisclosed facilities as well.

"In the Northwest incident, a check of the FBI database showed the leader of the group had been involved "in similar suspicious behavior" on a another flight just six months earlier, the IG report said. Yet he was released along with the others, all of whom were Syrian nationals in the country illegally. The feds didn't bother to check their status the day of the incident."

Let me understand this: Syrian nationals were in the country illegally. (Ergo, they were covert operatives). These Syrians were released after being interviewed. The Feds did not even bother to check their status.

Well, that is about par for the course. Federal authorities are only good for searching little old ladies with metal detectors. The fibbies allow illegal wire tapping by corporations, insurance companies and large defense firms with impunity. Americans civil rights are violated daily and nobody appears to care.

The new immigration bill is going to result in people being killed by terrorists. If people are killed, heads are going to roll. People may march on D.C. demanding justice. Congress cannot sell their loyalty to unnamed corporations and get away with it. Bribery is illegal. Soliciting bribes is illegal. Bribes disguised as 'campaign donations' is money laundering. Time to wake up, people. Both parties are culpable. Both parties accept bribes.

One thing's for sure. If we barely caught this dry run, which was embarassingly overt, it means we're missing 10x more. Most dry runs are testing very subtle parts of our security systems, and as such will be very hard to detect if you're not paying attention.

If stuff like the "flying musicians" isn't hitting DHS's radar like a thunderbolt, I cringe when I wonder what else they're missing.

I’m not sure saying that nothing happened as a result is necessarily true.

As we have witnessed in the Fort Dix plot and the JFK plot, we infiltrated these groups very effectively in order to get everyone involved.

There is no reason to believe we have not infiltrated this group after the incident took place.

PS: At least US Airways kicked the bastards off. Northwest really screwed the pooch on this one!

The ironic part is that after 2008, a bumper sticker is all that will be left of John Edwards.

RE; your polst #7.

Well, yes. Government employees are only going to hassle people who most likely will not complain. The role model for this is PETA fanatics who pour paint on rich old women who wear fur coats, but avoid disturbing anybody wearing a leather motorcycle club jacket.

Going after actual terrorists would require putting down the doughnuts and getting out of the chair.

In the real world this should happen, but in the US, at this time, a large section of our country does not believe we are at war or they continue to believe this is only about the evil NeoCons wanting to control the world's oil. Either way, the American populace will not uprise, in sufficient numbers, to stop the governmental incompetence.

Last year, six imams behaved suspiciously aboard a US Airways flight. They did not take their assigned seats but dispersed throughout the plane in the same configuration as the 9/11 hijackers.

I flew again for the first time since March of last year, and I was conscious of this "assigned seat" business. I was assured that "assigned seat" means assigned seat.

I would love to find one of these turds in my assigned seat. Who might be detained for "disruptive behavior"? The person who was assigned the seat? or the pork butt who arbitrarily decides he wants it?

Yeah, I've thought of that as well... if one of these turds did this I think a car key in the cheek or neck might make him move..... if not and my kids are on the plane... then I'd have to get nasty.
