A former president of the Virginia chapter of the American Civil Liberties Union pleaded guilty Friday to federal child pornography charges.
51-year-old Charles Rust-Tierney entered his plea to one count of receipt of child pornography in US District Court in Alexandria. He had been indicted last month on one count each of receipt and possession of child pornography.
Prosecutors say from March 2005 until October 2006, Rust-Tierney bought at least five subscriptions to child pornography Web sites and downloaded other illegal materials offered at additional cost.
Rust-Tierney, who also coached Little League baseball in Arlington, has been in jail since his arrest in February.
The charge carries a mandatory minimum of five years in prison.
Prosecutors said they would not seek more than eight years and one month, which is in line with sentencing guidelines.

As indicated in post #17:
As far as it being a victimless crime, he is the demand side of the business, and the children in the pornography are the victims.
The pornography business is just that. He got involved when he decided to fork over the money.
As opposed to me, when I and another co-worker, went out to the parking lot at our work site and picked up someone's porn stash that had been trashed, and thrown by the wind all over the lot. If it had been child porn, and I had looked at it, and even picked it up, I doubt I could have been charged with anything, nor would I want YOU charged with any crime, if you were in my shoes.
I have a feeling she was in no way surprised by the arrest.
“As president of the Virginia ACLU of Virginia, Charles Rust-Tierney brought lawsuits against local authorities in an attempt to keep pornographic websites available on public library computers. “
and succeeded...
