June 1, 2007 -- THE ISSUE: Miss USA contestant Rachel Smith's cold reception in Mexico City.

I am disgusted with the treatment of Miss USA Rachel Smith by the Mexican audience ("Booing Miss USA," Michelle Malkin, PostOpinion, May 30).

We are far too good a country to put up with this, especially from a corrupt country like Mexico.

Mexico can't even keep itself together, or its own people within its borders.

We may not be perfect, but we are the most civilized and compassionate superpower the world has ever had. And this is coming from a sixth-generation American of Mexican decent.
