Calling the President a traitor and shouting for his impeachment are now very accepted and normal posts by so many freepers.

All we are saying is that Bush does not want to do "what is right for America."

Where is it smoke and mirrors?
Why is it unenforceable?
We have amnesty now, this bill has no amnesty for citizenship? If it does, please tell us where?
Are the current laws working, and, when did they?
Please tell us how tougher, realistic employer laws and a fence are going to increase illegals? That ought to be interesting.
There will be no investigations? Well fire the politicians and get ones that will. Of course only one investigation will be more then we have now.
The bill has tons of safeguards against fraud. You know what we have now. I like the new stuff.
What is the give away? Please be specific. With a fence, a lot more Border Agents, more holding sites, violent criminals put in American jails. and real jail time for repeaters. how is your “Oklahoma land rush going to happen?
Ah, now comes the Truth, it`s a bad deal because Bush and Kennedy are for it. Well, that should do it then. But, help me, how is anything going to get passed and become law without Both of them agreeing? Minior point for sure, but a definite deal breaker. In the mean time, the problem gets worse! Is the Bill perfect> No, but let`s work together and fix what needs to be fixed. or. we can learn to live with what we have now, it`s our choice.

"I think of it as “grandiose incompetence”, like planting that monsterous embassy with 5 foot thick walls in Baghdad as a symbol of democracy in the Middleast, or saying that people who opposed the amnesty bill didn’t care enough about the country. It’s not a little off. It’s floating in deep space off.

And yes, it is scary."

You know...that is profound.

And, worth repeating!

Thank you!

I wish I were so articulate.

We impeached the Commander-in-Chief during a war. I guess you found that sad too.

“Our brave troops under the command and leadership of President Bush have been doing this for many years now, in the heart of the Middle East, in Iraq and Afghanistan and elsewhere.

God bless President Bush and our brave troops.”

God bless our troops. One might argue that we need them to protect and secure our borders from illegal immigration. But sadly, we haven’t them since they are busy protecting Iraqis from other Iraqis and other muslims. Correct me if I am wrong.

The war on terror has been stalemated in Iraq. We removed Saddam, our original mission was accomplished. Either advance the war on terror against Iran and Syria (both are major players in world wide terrorism,) or bring them home to defend our borders and help us round up all the illegals which includes untold thousands of muslim terrorists.

We are not fighting in Iraq for the Iraqis, we are fighting for our freedom and our way of life and those of our children, grandchildren, and for many generations to come.

What will happen if we leave before we achieve victory?

The terrorists whether they are Al Qaeda or the Iranian and Syrian terrorist regimes or a combination of all of them will not only control Iraq but the whole Middle East and with it come consequences to the US and the West that is worst than our most horrible nightmares. The islamic terrorists will be emboldened beyond imagination. The islamic terrorists will use the hundred of billions of dollars from oil revenues to conduct terrorists attacks that are hundreds of folds more horrible, more deadly, and more destructive than the 9/11 terrorists attacks, including the use of nuclear weapons. They will also use the oil weapon to blackmail the Western and the world economy for many years to come.

If some terrorists dwelling in camps in Afghanistan with a limited budget and few volunteers were able to do 9/11 terrorist attacks, killed 3000 people and caused one trillion dollars in economic losses, imagine the incredible horrors that the terrorists can inflict on us if they control the whole Middle East and it vast revenues.

Any person who has a shred of patriotism and a basic common sense will realize that we simply cannot afford to leave Iraq before we defeat terrorism there.

I am not comfortable with all the attacks on him, either. I believe it is possible to disagree with President Bush without going off the deep end. I find it very distasteful the way democrats speak of Bush and the vitriolic hatred they direct at him and even more bothered when it comes from our side. It only emboldens our enemies! And I am talking about the liberal media and the democrats, not the terrorists.

We managed to turn Bush on the Harriet Meiers nomination through constant pressure and now he will be remembered as the president who appointed Alito and Roberts. He can be saved on this issue as well. All in all he has done a good job as president, but when he is wrong, I believe it is up to the people to let him know! After all, he is the president and not a king.

Why is it unenforceable?

Because if the government is unable -- unwilling, actually -- to enforce the current laws now, it will be no different under the post-amnesty regime. Even if the bill passes, nothing will change in any fundamental way.

Why? Because when all these new Z-visa holders become "regularized," they are "out of the shadows." Employers will no longer be able to pay them sub-standard wages off the books. The minimum wage laws will apply to Z-visa workers.

The result? There are another 20 million illegals willing to come to this country to work for the same sub-standard wages the current crop of illegals are working for now. And the same employers who hire illegals now, will hire the new wave of illegals, for the same reason they do now -- they are the cheapest source of labor.

Amnesty will price the "regularized" illegals out of the market.

Arlen Specter=RHINO! Feinstein was one of the prime negotiators of this shamnesty bill.

She and Specter also voted on Senate floor in favor of amendment to kill border fence in 2006.

The Manager's Amendment (SA 4188), offered by Sen. Arlen Specter (R-PA), to S. 2611, the Comprehensive Immigration Reform Act of 2006. The Manager's Amendment made many minor changes to S. 2611, none of have significant numeric impacts on the overall bill. However, the Manager's Amendment included

a provision that requires consultation with the government of Mexico concerning the construction of additional fencing and related border security structures along the international border between the United States and Mexico. This would virtually guarantee that the fence along the U.S.-Mexico border would never be completed. The Manager's Amendment passed by a vote of 56 to 41. http://profiles.numbersusa.com/improfile.php3?DistSend=CA&VIPID=46

No, Reagan truly believed he was getting enforcement in the deal. Fool us once ... actually every "immigration reform" bill ever passed "promised" enforcement -- we're just saying it's time at long last to enforce first, then we can talk about what to do with whomever still hasn't gone home of their own accord.

The saddest thing is that the Clinton administration actually did far more enforcement than Bush's. Look at the stats - enforcement actions of every type dropped to a fraction of previous activities with Bush.

Why should we believe more empty promises about enforcement? Show us first! More agents?? Why, so we can throw them in jail too for doing their jobs? Sorry. Both Bush and Kennedy have ZERO credibility about any enforcement. Teddy boy has a 100% record of being 100% wrong about every immigration bill he ever spoke about.

I recommend everyone REALLY take a hard look at: Immigration and Usurpation - Real reason why your Senator wants this immigration amnesty bill - written by a Mexican no less, who has a better grasp of our system than 99.9% of our politicians and citizenry

I like the way Peggy put it as well.

“What I came in time to believe is that the great shortcoming of this White House, the great thing it is missing, is simple wisdom.”

That’s got to leave a mark!

Let me do the easy part first, if the new laws take effect, with the already funded increase in Border Patrol and the fence, how are 20 million more illegals going to get in? Those that do, are going to have a much tougher job getting docs. And if it`s to easy for the Z-visa holders, what are we, potted plants? (love that line still) Make it tougher. This law isn`t even close to being finalized. But, do you think it`s a good idea to do nothing? I don`t.

“If some terrorists dwelling in camps in Afghanistan with a limited budget and few volunteers were able to do 9/11 terrorist attacks,”

Well, that explains why they are looking at all of our investment banking transactions. We’re all on a limited budget. /s

There cannot be any true victory in Iraq. Any resemblance of victory will only be temporary in Iraq or anywhere else muslims have invaded legally and/or illegally ie America.

This is an all out battle til death do us part. Victory against muslim jihad cannot be achieved in any part of the world in the manner currently being exercised. And since there are billions of them, we need to discover a way to get their attention. Surely even you have the insight to surmise that the current approach to the threat of worldwide islamic jihad has failed us miserably?

You’re gonna need another arguement, and we’re gonna need a real solution islamic jihad.

Protecting our borders and removing illegals which happens to include illegal muslim immigrants is a start.

When you take the time to read the links I posted, if your questions are not answered then ask me again. I will let you know that the bill was negotiated in secret by a small group of pro open borders senators, la Raza and the Chamber of Commerce other than puppet Chertoff, there was no unbiased law enforcement input. Th Union representing the Border Patrrol was not asked for their input, (which they were asked in 1986)So the bill was not intended to enforce the laws but meet the needs of La Raza, Chamber of commerce and open border senators, not exactly a compromise bill. The loopholes are in the details.

Here is the bill for your edification:
