LANSING, Mich. - Jack Kevorkian has promised to never help another person in an assisted suicide, but that hasn't dimmed the attention focused on his release from prison.
The 79-year-old retired pathologist was expected to leave Lakeland Correctional Facility in Coldwater on Friday morning with his attorney, Mayer Morganroth. Morganroth has said Kevorkian would not talk to the media Friday, though a news conference with his client was scheduled for Tuesday.
Recently, Kevorkian has made it clear his support for letting people decide when they want to die hasn't wavered.
"It's got to be legalized. That's the point," he told WJBK-TV in Detroit. "I'll work to have it legalized. But I won't break any laws doing it."
Kevorkian went to prison after being convicted of second-degree murder in the 1998 death of Thomas Youk, 52, an Oakland County man with Lou Gehrig's disease. He was given a 10- to 25-year sentence and is getting out after serving more than eight years because of time off for good behavior.
Kevorkian has said he helped at least 130 people die from 1990 to 1998. Many who sought his assistance were not terminally ill.

Kevorkian suffers from a variety of ailments including diabetes, hepatitis C, high blood pressure
and hardening of the arteries in his brain. He will see his internist and a dentist (rather than use
his machine on himself) after his release from prison, as well as some specialists.
I am against assisted suicide, but in Kevorkians case I would make an exception.
Show me just what Mohammed brought that was new, and there you will find things only evil and inhuman, such as his command to spread by the sword the faith he preached." -Manuel II Paleologus
Kevorkian never expected to go to prison. His first mistake was listening to Geoffrey Figer. Figer made an name for himself on Kevorkian then dropped him like a hot rock right before he went to prison.
In the land of the free, we consider it inhumane to let a dog suffer, but a person? Even if they are in agonizing pain and there is no hope for them other than death, they must live and suffer as long as they can, because their life is SPECIAL and this horrid pain is all a part of the loving God’s plan.
Why was this guy in prison? What individual’s rights did he violate?
He violated the Right of the State to own your ass from the cradle to the grave.

A lot of his admirers are just DYING to see him....!!!
