Parents of government-educated school children...listen up! You already have heard many of the horror stories coming out of our government indoctrination centers. For instance, when little Cranston goes back to school in August he will have to turn in his crayon boxes and precious supplies for the good of the class. They aren't his supplies anymore, they are now government property. This first lesson in the power of government is being learned in more and more government schools every year.
Now we have something else your child needs to know on that first day ... please sit down. I don't want you to hurt yourself when you start gasping for air and fall to the floor.
Before the next school year begins --- and this only really applies to those of you who abuse your children by sending them to the government to be educated .. you might want to tell Johnny or DeShawn that they should not raise their hand in class when they know the answer to a teacher's question. They shouldn't even think about it. Well ... OK. They can think about it, but they shouldn't do it. Why? Because other kids might feel stupid. They might feel "invisible" if they, themselves, don't know the answer and can't raise their hands too. We need to be fair to all the "invisible" childrenthe children that are too scared or too lazy or too incompetent to participate.
No .... I'm not kidding here. OK ... this "don't raise your hands" bit is actually starting in England. But you just know some American "educators" are going to think that it's such a wonderful idea it needs to be implemented over here ASAP. Remember, no idea is too outrageous when it comes to our own hideous government schools.
The advice from the British Department of Education basically states that teachers shouldn't ask students to raise their hands to answer questions in class. The Education Secretary said, "We need to make sure that no-one is left behind at any point - from the most gifted and talented children at the top of the class, to the quiet child who is well-practiced at hiding from the teacher's gaze at the back of the class." So ... to flush out these "invisible" students the teacher should not ask kids to raise their hands, but instead should just chose a student to answer a question.
Here are the recommendations:
Teachers should pick and choose which child to call on. This way they can evenly distribute the fairness of speaking time in the classroom. Remember ... "fairness" is everything!
Children can discuss the answers in pairs (this way the government school teachers have less responsibility to actually answer the questions...which they probably don't know the answers to anyway because they, too, were educated in government schools.)
Teachers can allow for "thinking time" (this extra 30 seconds after every question allows the teachers time to contemplate their union status and decide which lucky child they are going to recommend be put on Ritalin today.) I wonder if they have the same situation in Great Britain that they have in the teacher's schools in the U.S. I wonder if British teachers are, by and large, the dregs from the bottom of the educational pot.
Want more? Here's your story.
And though the MSM somehow failed to point it out, I do recall hearing that the kid who won was HOME SCHOOLED.
It will get worse before it gets better.
Check out the link below for some recent stats:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=D0lR1KQq2-U
1/10th of the participants were homeschooled.
5 of the 15 finalists were homeschooled.
The winner was homeschooled.
And I would bet he didn’t have training in self-esteem, political correctness, collectivism, or multiculturalism (anti-Americanism). Obviously, this kid’s education was sorely lacking by today’s standards.
I was reading about the kid who won, and wondering why they didn’t mention his school. It immediately hit me - is this kid home-schooled?
Our public schools have for years been medicating into submission many kids who exhibit energy and enthusiasm - and, I suspect, boredom with predigested, pablum, left-ideologically-driven “lessons”.
This could come as no surprise as a logical next step.....
The navy has a term for this kind of behavior. Its called shotgunning a class. Its a big no no in Instructors as it can make people who really don’t know the answer appear as stupid as they really are. This actually may be a good thing. if they lazy and “shy” students know that they could be asked a question then maybe they will pay attention. After a while a teacher, or instructor, get a feel for who the slackers in a class are and if I were still instructing those would be the ones I would shotgun the most.
It embarrasses and humiliates them to do the work.
Why would anyone find this strange? Government schooling is a socialist program in and of itself. It transfers a personal financial responsibility from individuals to that great faceless mysterious entity society.
Government schooling is no different than government housing, government medicine, food stamps, AFDC, or hundreds of other socialist programs, except for the fact that it allows the rich and the middle class to feed at the governments trough too.
People who dump their financial responsibility onto society have no room to complain about what they get. People with kids in government schools complaining about how the government operates those schools, is like people at a soup kitchen complaining about the menu or people in the projects complaining about the color of the carpet.
I didn't know you had to be white to be American. I saw a bunch of American and Canadian children on that stage last night, some of whom were of Asian descent.
Once this policy hits my school, I will look at it more seriously.
As it is now, I have a hard time getting kids to raise hands anyway, many blurt out answers and starts a chain reaction of other kids thinking.
I have learned allowing kids to answer spontaneously actually helps the ones who would not normally answer because everyone learns they can make mistakes and learn from them.
And WHERE did I say they HAD to be WHITE?
Yes, I DID say “non-Caucasian” as a reference to a distinct racial grouping — created by some of the most PC academics extant (sociologists!) — predominantly from Europe.
Like it or not — and you apparently do NOT like it — the vast majority of folks who settled this continent were EUROPEAN CAUCASIANS. And, YES, as is invariably the case when a technologically superior culture (the dreaded and currently despised CAUCASIAN EUROPEANS) confronts a technologically inferior culture (AMERICAN INDIANS or the more PC term “Native Americans”), the technologically superior displaces the technologically inferior.
The current situation vis-a-vis the illegal invasion from the south, our soon-to-be suicidal failure to forcefully deal with the islamic invasion of the West and the U.S. — as well as much else taking this nation down the PC rathole — may be the product of some perverted vision of guilt surrrounding that technological superiority and resultant dominance.
Our kids and grandkids will probably live as serfs — and/or in a rigidly enforced muslim hellhole out of some 12th century nightmare.
Given current trends, it sure as hell won’t look like the America in which we grew up.
Sorry it took so long to respond. Today was PE OLYMPICS!! Have you ever had the pleasure of riding on a bus with 50 hygiene challenged 8th graders who have been outside in 90 degree weather for oh, about 6 hours running around? Trust me, you can't roll down the windows far enough. But, all good. One of my guys won the county champ for 50 meter sprint. It was great to see him win.
