I’m one of those former donors that told the solicitor a couple of weeks ago that they would not get another dime from me if that amnesty bill passed.

Good for you. I'm beginning to believe this uproar is starting to have an effect on the boneheads in the RNC.

If the national party has any sense whatsoever, they will listen to the people on this issue instead of ignoring them.

A link to this thread ought to be sent to the White House, the RNC & GOP along with a note asking them to "get a feel for what America thinks of their amnesty bill."

Some observations: Sending solicitation letters back with large screeds of anger gets us nothing because the party never sees those letters. All solicitation work is farmed out.

Second: The GOP counts on big business donations. The small donations are not critical to them. On the illegal issue they will try to make big business happy. We don't matter.

Third: My personal opinion is that G. Bush has always had a plan in his head to "capture" the hispanic vote for the GOP. He sees amnesty as a way of doing that. He has blinders on concerning the Mexicans. He has only had positive experiences with elite Mexicans and non with the peons. He is out of touch with reality on this. That is why he is so angry at the conservative base. He sees us as interfering with his efforts to get a large hispanic GOP voter pool.

JMHO which may not be worth much.
