There has been a sharp decline in contributions from RNC phone solicitations, another fired staffer said, reporting that many former donors flatly refuse to give more money to the national party if Mr. Bush and the Senate Republicans insist on supporting what these angry contributors call "amnesty" for illegal aliens. "Everyone donor in 50 states we reached has been angry, especially in the last month and a half, and for 99 percent of them immigration is the No. 1 issue," said the former employee.

Definitely deliver the message about immigration and why you’re not donating. But don’t be rude to the caller. It’s unfair and counterproductive. One, it’s not his or her fault. Two, he or she may agree with you.

The Republicans can still win in ‘08. All they have to do is kill this abomination.

IMHO, the reporting sucks!
Why wasn’t “Miss Schmidt” asked, “What is the RNC going to do to make up the shortfall that will happen since you’re not going to solicit by phone any more?

"Any assertion that overall donations have gone down is patently false," Miss Schmitt said. "We continue to out raise our Democrat counterpart by a substantive amount (nearly double)."An interesting response. Comparing overall donations year-to-year to how those donations compare with the DNC deflects the point of the question, and really answers nothing. What she says about RNC vs. DNC donations may well be true. But BOTH parties may be seeing a substantial loss in revenue because of the immigration issue. This would leave the statement stand, yet not answer the original assertion.

Maybe all those illegal aliens they are screwing us for, will donate to them. Getting screwed is bad enough but they want us to buy the Vaseline.

What % of the voters agree that there is a problem and it needs fixing?
The Senate bill is doomed. Immigration will be a major issue in 08. The Republican that pledges to first build a wall, employ employer sactions and figure out how reasonable hoops that the good ones could jump through and attain citizenship will be the next President. No Rat can do that.

On the other hand, I may have closed my checkbook when it became evident that Commander-in-Chief George W. Bush was happy to put the scumbag ACLU lawyers of JAG in charge of the war in Iraq. Way to be, Bush. How many Marines will die because they hesitated to pull their triggers just long enough to review their battlefield ethics and their thirteen rules of engagement out of fear of ending up in prison? This one was the "deal-killer" for me. I am simply numb with rage that I have lived to see, for the second time in my life, my country's so-called "leaders" place our wonderful military personnel in harm's way on the other side of the world, and then cynically and brutally sell them out and stab them in the back.
Much ado has been made over the past several years about President Bush's "compassion" for our military families, and how much time he has devoted to meeting with them and comforting them.
I'm sad to say that I've begun to wonder if those gestures have been due more to the twinges of a guilty conscience than to any true compassion...

Dear Congress Person,
Before you make your final vote on this bill, ask yourself if you can really afford to vote for it?
It’s hell trying to remain a congress person without money.

Just sent in my letter to RNC...answered all the survey questions..added a note that $0.00 will be my contribution unless/until GOP stands for conservative values. Good on you all...hit em where it hurts... no honey = no money.

I agree, in fact, if some that live in a Black and White World, BWW, on our side will just stop and think, this is the way to destroy the Rats and take back the country. We just have to grow-up and realize we are going to have to accept some form of amnesty

But thats OK, we don`t compromise.I don't compromise on guns, nor illegal immigration. I hold my nose on everything else. Because I know that without the guns, we have no chance. I also know that if this illegal invasion continues, we have no country.

If the blind Republicans supporting amnesty don’t understand this trend it will be at their peril.
I have been a staunch supporter of this President and a convert to the Republican party in this new century.
This whole issue leaves me disillusioned, angry, and unable to understand what the President is doing.
It really feels like a slap in the face and leaves me feeling like a person without a party.
Why do Republicans REFUSE to listen to the masses???
Seems like a death wish for the future of the party.
