I wish. It still shows a picture of my house the way it looked in early 2001.
It isn't like I live out in BFE, either.
You think it would refresh sooner than every 6 years.

Don't know why that is. All I can think of is the browser. I use Firefox and it works.

How do you try the new maps? I have Google Earth installed, but most views are blurred when I try to get in closer than a few hundred feet.

I’ve tried in I.E. and Firefox. I have the satellite view; but not the street view. I have the icon telling me to drag it; but that is it.

Gets unviewable long before you get to the level where you can actually see a person let alone a license plate. Google earth does, but the new "street view" is using security and traffic cam feeds and you can zoom in on faces and license plates quite easily.

Apparently, not all areas have close-ups. One I tried I could read a license plate, but another area I tried would not go in that close.

Any of which could have been seen by any one of the thousands of people driving or walking by any of those locations at precisely the same day and time that the Google vans with the cameras drove by. Additionally, Google did not target any specific address or person, but kept the cameras rolling to equally capture every street location in their targetted urban areas. If someone doesn’t want something seen from the street, then I suggest that they build a high wall or fence.

Maybe that is it.
Cause I do have satellite.
Apparently I’m not home :))
You know, this will be great for driving directions. This feature will blow mapquest out of the water.

Only certain areas have them. Try Goggles headquarters in Mountain View CA. You should see a “Street View” button.
Not sure their coverage yet, but where I used to live in the bay area is on there, but my area in CT now is not.
