"I have to smile at the word "boob." They're breasts."

Yes. Obviously, the boobs were in the audience booing and laughing--and perhaps at least one or two commenting here.

Yes, her utter humiliation would be a real laugher for people like you, wouldn’t it?

If her boob had flopped out, would that have been an udder humiliation?

Lots of people in this world lower themselves to the level of animals."

Especially those who compare women to dogs.

Okay, how about if we call them chestnuts?

(Can’t we all just get along?)

I haven't been to the interior of Mexico in years. The extent of any "tourism" I do these days is to a place like Nuevo Progreso to pick up some Kahlua and Jose Cuervo Gold.

Recent events in places like Nuevo Laredo tend to discourage my visits to Mexico, as well as the behavior of los pindejos such those who booed Miss Smith. Thankfully not all Mexicans are as behaviorally challenged as those people showed themselves to be.

Yep, she had a bad night, no question.

Yet she did handle it all with grace and dignity.

Which is more than I can say of the bastards booing her.

Yep, lets invited these punks to become Americans, President Bush....(sarcasm)

Why no use of an over-the-shoulder-boulder-holder? Then, whatever they are called, there would be no rock slides?

Talking about the fall with various people yesterday, interesting that all the men thought it was funny and all the women were horrified by it. Some of the women were horrified that I thought it was funny. Like my Sister-in-law. My brother piped in saying (for his wife’s benefit I believe) that at first he thought it was funny but then he realized how terrible it must have been for the poor girl. I was horrified by his craven pandering to his wife.

All this strife is typical of a Trump production. Beauty pageants are so.... Trumpian.

My main fear is that Mexicans that come to the USA will remain Mexicans, continuing to resent the country that gave them prosperity, not like immigrants from the past that learned English, and love what makes America the greatest country in the World.

Like the Italians who have the Columbus day fests....the Irish with St Paddy's.... the German with Oktoberfest....not the holidays but the pride in culture and heritage and language....

You're seeing the part that the media want you to see. At least most of the Americans of Mexican descent I know are conservative, but that's in Texas. We (yeah me) have been in the country for a couple of hundred years, at least according to the church records. I've had 8 uncles serve in the armed forces including the devout Catholic one who was a conscientious objector that became a Navy Corpsman and saw more combat than most. My father was a Marine... I've got cousins that are doctors, teachers, bankers, program managers for EDS, builders, carpenters, and a couple of addicts and drunks as well. All speak English and some can't even speak spanish.

My point is that all people want freedom. This country is so great that it takes waves of these immigrants and assimilates them IF THEY WANT TO SUCCEED. If they want to live the old socialist ways, with the "old language", giving money to the "patron" in order to scramble by....then those people are always going to be parasites on the country.

What we need to fight is the crippling of the immigrants by allowing Spanish to be their language, by enforcing laws, by making the immigrants have a "sponsor" in order to assure they don't end up on the welfare wagon.

Any talk of reclaiming California or Texas for Mexico should be met with a size 10 boot up the a## and a one way ticket back to the sh#thole Mexico.

The government of Mexico is directly responsible for the crappy conditions that exist. Mexico has a multitude of natural resources and millions of hard working men that will work 2-3 jobs in order to feed their family. However Mexico doesn't have the "rule of law" and is basically an agrarian revolutionary government along the lines of the Soviet Union, China, Cuba and any other Hillary Clinton wet dream government.

If anybody wants to know what Mexico would look like with no immigration allowed....look to Cuba. We should have killed Castro and took Cuba back in the 60's when my dad was training Cubans in Florida.

Good comments. My Mom’s family is from South Texas, and I grew up knowing many Texans of Mexican ancestry. They were as much Texans as anyone. You are right, many were conservative.
I lived in Arizona for a while, and was exposed to the California Latino subculture. I find that it was different from what you find in Texas. Latinos in California had a serious leftist and anti-establishment angle. I think many immigrants to California come from southern Mexico, which is more leftist/collectivist. Many immigrants to Texas come from northern Mexico, which is more conservative.
I love to celebrate cultural heritage with anyone, whether from Mexico, Ireland, etc. Also, I like Corona better than most American beer.

I agree, I am very scared as well. Even though I like the ID card provision, and border security part, I don’t like the massive amnesty.

Since this event was held in a large, upscale auditorium, one has to assume the audience was filled with middle to upper class Mexicans. The poor man on the street would not have been there - way too expensive. It’s not like this was held in an open air square so just any schmo could be there.

The boorishness of sports fans and (now) beauty contest watchers notwithstanding, I have actually found Mexicans in general to be very friendly, although Chilongos (residents of the Capital) do have a reputation for rudeness among other Mexicans. Even in piss poor areas like Chiapas the locals were very outgoing, and helped me immensely back when I was a poor student traversing through the mountains.

Can't say the same for Quebeckers or Jamaicans. Worst experiences with people from this hemisphere have been among those folks.

What a great representative of her country she is. Her task now and it may be easy for her, as compared with others, is to keep on contributing. I say this because the pitfalls readied by the unspeakable slimes that urge a young women on, are only too well recorded. Many a person nearing celebrity is pushed into untenable situations. They always have been, but there are the new devices to record this.

She appears to have a good head on her shoulders. Any person would be proud to have her as a daughter.

Phew! I could be flamed for a bit of sermonizing, but having two daughters, is a sobering factor.

Good post. Mexico has ore deposits of just about every PMG known to man. They’d be profitable to work even paying US level of wages, but the corruption stops everything :^(

I was going to make the one contribution to this post but..... I note the comments and I know that friends who go to Eastern Canada have avoided Quebec. They travel through the USA. I only have experience of that Province years ago, when attitudes were maybe better.

Curiously enough, the working class French-Canadian, who has migrated to other parts of Canada, has proved to me very hospitable in my own Province. The soul of kindness. Still, the reputation actually to Quebec bound travellers trying converse when filling up a tank of gas, using English is unsettling.

George, I had a crisp cold Corona this last Christmas Eve . It seemed to have not got a harsh tang to it. Liked it. I wondered about that, until the latest radio commercials for Miller Draft. Seems the promotional emphasis is on a four time filtering. Could be why some beers had a sort of tang. I tried some export Millers draught yesterday from the Ontario liquor control board.

Pretty close to the excellent Corona.
