NASA Administrator Michael Griffin Not Sure That Global Warming Is A Problem
National Public Radio ^ | May 30, 2007 | NPR

MR. GRIFFIN: I have no doubt that global -- that a trend of global warming exists. I am not sure that it is fair to say that it is a problem we must wrestle with. To assume that it is a problem is to assume that the state of earth's climate today is the optimal climate, the best climate that we could have or ever have had and that we need to take steps to make sure that it doesn't change. First of all, I don't think it's within the power of human beings to assure that the climate does not change, as millions of years of history have shown, and second of all, I guess I would ask which human beings - where and when - are to be accorded the privilege of deciding that this particular climate that we have right here today, right now is the best climate for all other human beings. I think that's a rather arrogant position for people to take.

Sounds like Griffin is not drinking the Kool Aid.

Defying the Goracle will bring great wrath however.

Hope he is strong enough.

Wow!
I hope Griffin watches his back. Earlier reports led me to believe that NASA was saying all the politically correct things in order ro get in on the “global warming” gravy train of government funding and grants, etc., like the rest of the parasites.

I'm also aware of recent findings that appear to have nailed down -- pretty well nailed down the conclusion that much of that is manmade

Maybe the Kool-Aid he's drinking is just diluted.

I noticed that as well. I’ve yet to see any actual hard evidence that this is the case....I guess they’re all just hiding it from us peons.

Measuring data from the Sun apparently does that to people.

People don’t realize how far out the Gorons are. They’re trying to say that ALL climate change is due to human influence.

There's a perfectly 'good' carbon credit scheme still active on Mars. They don't build collectors, they just send their hard earned wages to Al Gore. He'll fix it. He's magic.

If the moonbat liberals go immediately after the NASA Administrator, or NASA, for these remarks, it will geometrically increase the dispersion and knowledge of the remarks.

I don’t think Gore and his loonies will do this - but surely Michael Griffin will be on their list.

That was indeed a honorable and 100 percent professional response to the question.

This man is a genuine scientist - in a field of many pretenders. Actually, he has just raised the estimate of NASA in the eyes of many, many persons.

I guess NASA saw their entire yearly budget going to buy carbon offsets, just so they could launch the shuttle, did not justify joining the global warming cult. Tithes and offerings to the Goracle were not sustainable.

Griffin is a very smart man too. In any case, I suppose he might not have the job beyond Jan. 2009 in any case. Maybe if another Republican president is elected they would keep him on but I would think a Demo president would want their own administrator. Probably to screw things up.

I would love to hear Dr. Hansen's (and Algore's, for that matter) answer to this excellent observation. Not that anybody would ever be allowed to ask them in front of the cameras.
