Those people are waiting for the government to come help them just like they did when they stayed in NOLA after being warned to leave.

I’m guessing it must be like those uber-demanding civil service exams I’ve heard about.

You’re so right. I’m telling you that this really pisses me off. I’m so sick of coddling and supporting people who simply WILL NOT help themselves. And that’s what it is, Wont, not cant.

You are so right, on the government gimmie’s for generations, a way of life for those in New Orleans.

As if most folks didn’t already know this....what a joke being played on the American taxpayers.

Army, Navy Air Force, Marines, there's lots of good government jobs waiting for them.

Huh? How do you fail that?”
On purpose, of course.
Unemployment checks keep coming to those who “try” to become employed, but just can’t quite cut it.

The “Army, Navy Air Force, Marines” would not touch them.
High school grad, clean criminal record, no drugs, decent physical condition.
Probably flunk 0/4.
But I bet they sure can vote, early and often.

When the Katrina funds ended they held a forum in Dallas to help those still receiving money to transition.
The vocal members of the audience wanted to know why the government had not yet found them jobs and permanant homes. There was no denying the fact they felt no responsibility for doing any of these things themselves.
To: TornadoAlley3
Many of these Katrina refugees didn’t have jobs to begin with. After almost two years and they can’t get a job there is something wrong with their work ethic....they don’t have any.
Bets are they are all Democrat.
To: TornadoAlley3
“Still” seems out of place in that title.

There is a reason NO was one of the poorest cities in the nation before Katrina........
19 months and no job, in a place like Houston??????
That’s just the decision I like the free check, over actually putting any effort out.
To: TornadoAlley3
Thinking that they were not sure they were staying in Houston was a huge problem," ...IOW, they're going wherever the gov't issued checks are.

Just as they were before they became Katrina evacuees.”
Indeed. My guess would be that more are working now than prior to Katrina.
