We hosted an Italian exchange student when I lived at home, he is from Torino (Turin). I’ve often wondered what Paris is like and after this moment I decided I have no desire to ever go there.

We were driving on the Dan Ryan somewhere between the Skyway and Comiskey Park towards downtown Chicago when he commented “Wow. This reminds me so much of Paris”. I said “Huh? We’re in one of the worst crime areas in the entire US!” then proceeded to tell him about the drugs, mugging, murders, shootings, and all the things that are normal parts of life on the South Side of Chicago. His answer? “Oh. Then it *IS* just like Paris”. No thank you I have no desire to go to Paris.

I guess it depends on where you go in Paris. My niece was just there a few weeks ago and loved it. But I would never want to live there.
