State Sen. Carole Migden, who rear-ended a car this month after being seen driving erratically on Interstate 80, was involved in another accident in a state vehicle 11 years ago when she ran a stop sign near the Capitol, according to the woman whose car was hit.
Teresa Latham, a tax technician at the state Board of Equalization, said she still harbors bitter feelings about the accident that totaled the car she had paid off eight months earlier.
She said Migden barely spoke to her and didn't seem worried about her welfare after Latham's car was spun onto O Street from 15th Street, causing the air bag to go off.
"It's really odd at my age that I just can't get over it," Latham, 47, said. "I think it was just the whole situation. There was no concern on her part."
Migden, D-San Francisco, did not return a phone call seeking comment about the May 1996 accident. In a brief interview with several reporters last week in her office, she admitted she had been in a previous accident but declined to go into details.
Latham said the state paid her fair market value for her 1990 Dodge Spirit, as well as $5,000. She said the accident burst blood vessels on her left ankle and caused back problems that required $2,500 of chiropractic care and caused her to miss two weeks of work. Latham said she still suffers from the burst blood vessels.
"I would not drive down that street for the longest time," she said.
Migden's state-issued Lincoln also was damaged, Latham said.

Do what I say, not what I do!!!
I dont get it, what is the point of writing about a car accident 11 years later?
Perhaps she has a history of knocking them back then knocking them over.
How many people do you know that cause injury accidents twice (or more) in their lifetimes?
And, as usual, the closest they can come to saying the Senator is a Dem is the “D-San Francisco.”
In State-owned cars?
Ms. Migden -- one of the gay elite in California -- was recently in a crash in which she rear-ended a vehicle stopped at a red light. According to witnesses, she got out of the car and shouted, "I'm a Senator, I'm a Senator." She passed a breathalyzer test (we're told), but she was tight-lipped about the entire deal for days until she (conveeeeniently) revealed in her first interview since the crash that she has been secretly being treated for leukemia for ten years. She says she didn't remember the accident (or the erratic driving beforehand when eyewitnesses said she was on a cell phone, swerving, and hit a guard rail), and is blaming her medication for side effects.
It's part of the background of the current bizarre story.
One law for Democrat politicians and another for the rest of us.
Her office release a statement the next day saying she was distracted trying to answer her cellphone.

seen talking on here cellphone AND reading while driving.
ah thanks. seemed weird.
I know it’s odd to recall an incident from 11 years ago. But as liberal democrats keep trading off on their supposed compassion and warmth, perhaps its worth being reminded from time to time that what these folks are about is cold, hard power and self-aggrandizement above all else.

“State issued Lincoln”
And we wonder why taxes are so high.
Especially with people like this waste of oxygen wrecking them with alarming frequency.
