I hope he fares well at Brown. It’s a pretty liberal school and popular with the offspring of the Hollyweird crowd. Just read this morning that at the commencement, this weekend ,the faces of Susan Sarandon and Tim Robbins along with Danny DeVito and Rhea Pearlman were seen in the audience. I also believe Jane Fonda’s son or daughter is an alumni.

Seems to me just about all of them have the liberal bend. Heaven help you if you’re conservative or espouse a conservative viewpoint. And that’s a shame.

I remember taking a campus tour at Brown when my son was looking at colleges back in the mid-80s. The student who gave us the tour went on at great length about Brown's "open" curriculum, the lack of required courses, etc. My son thought this was all perfectly wonderful. My wife and I said "no way." It was no surprise to me, though, that Brown became kind of a "trendy" place.

My son wound up going to Duke for the first of his three degrees. He got a great education there and had a great experience. Sure, it's a liberal, PC campus, but you can do pretty well for yourself there if you are serious.

Brown??? I think that kid just jumped from the frying pan into the fire. Brown is the most liberal by far of all the Ivy League schools.

Brown recruits from the Hollyweird (read $$$) crowd, bending over backwards to admit them. There's a fairly recent book out on college admissions by a WSJ reporter named Dan Golden.
(I just remember the similarities in the name to the worst director in NASA's history.)
