Nobody expected Saturday's Operation PUSH protest at Chuck's Gun Shop & Range to be anything other than a circus of the bizarre. However, nobody anticipated that an address by a Chicago priest would include a call for the murder of a suburban gun shop owner and legislators who oppose gun control.
During an address at an anti-gun rally in front of Chuck's, Rev. Michael Pfleger, pastor of St. Sabina's Church, exhorted the crowd to "drag" shop owner, John Riggio, from his shop "like a rat" and "snuff" him. Rev. Pfleger went on to tell the crowd that legislators that vote against gun control legislation should be "snuffed"...

Where I come from, to snuff someone usually involves a gun. With that meaning in mind, this guy wants to kill the gunstore owner and legislatures with a gun? Thats a good way to advocate gun restrictions.
Actually, I would like to see the crowd try to bum rush the gun store owner. I’m quite sure that he and a few of his employees would have an enjoyable time of target practice. I just hope that the good father is the leader of his flock in this mission..
Is this a Catholic Church?
Whatever it is, he should now be a prisoner instead of a priest.
Wow, I thought that was a Protestant thing; I'm a Protestant BTW. Thanks, I did not know that.
St. Sabina's is apparently a Catholic Church in the Archdiocese of Chicago.
I can't believe the Catholic hierarchy hasn't muzzled this whackjob.
The Catholic Church often gives Pastors considerable leeway, but this priest's actions are indefensible. The Church needs to take action quickly on this, preferably including defrocking this idiot.
I agree completely. Maybe he should join the Church McGreevy is going to be a priest in?
The web page for St. Sabrina's identifies it as an "African-American Catholic Church." I have never heard of such a thing, but I suspect this is another one of those "Catholic-like" faiths. There are other ones where its cool to be gay, or women can become priests. This one restricts seems to restrict its membership to black people (although Fr. Pfleger himself is a cracker). Catholicism and Dr. King both went out of their way not to distinguish God's Children by the color of their skin, but I guess if you can believe in abortion on demand and still call yourself a Catholic, anything's possible. In any case, I doubt there is any Cardinal overseeing Rev. Pfleger.
The reason why I bring it up is because it annoys me whenever I see the press mention a "priest" doing something wrong without bothering to report that the man is not a Catholic.
The concept of irony is lost on these people.
I think Jesse would say keep your hands off my guns.
Yes PUSH is a Rev. Thug Production.
Ahhh.. gotta love it.. if you have a associate degree or less, you can be a pastor/priest in many denominations.... Gotta love the results of that....
Sorry, this is from the website of this Church, under Ministries/Missions.
St. Sabina is a Word-based, Bible teaching church that believes in the power of praise and worship. We are a spiritual hospital where all are welcome and invited to "taste and see the goodness of the Lord."
Our purpose is to nurture and develop spiritually mature Christians who are trained leaders and who are not confined by the walls of the sanctuary, but can penetrate the world in order to present God's way of living as a divine option.
We strive to be a true Thessalonian Church that:
Imitates Christ;
Builds and models community in a fragmented world; Evangelizes by reaching out to others by proclaiming the Good News;
Is rooted in faith and prepared to stand when we have done all else;
Witnesses Gods goodness and love as doers of the Word. Is committed to building a Third Day Church, one that takes:
takes DOMINION (Authority) Genesis 1:28
takes POSSESSION (Ownership) Joshua 1:10-11
makes DISCIPLES (Trains up followers of Christ) Matthew 28:18-20
We believe that the church is called to be the immune system of the world -- fighting off the attacks of Satan. We are dependent upon the Word of God and the power and presence of the Holy Spirit to fulfill this high calling.
Pretty much doesn't practice what he preaches if this is the mission statement from his church.
“Im not an expert on Jesus and the bible, but isnt this guy missing the part about turn the other cheek?”
More like this one..
“Thou shalt not MURDER!”
Christians say ‘Kill’ but the original interpretation is Murder.
Oh, no, Fr. Pfleuger is indeed a Roman Catholic priest. Technically he is under the direction of the Archibishop of Chicago. However, when the previous Abp. tried to reassign him to another parish a couple of years ago he pitched a huge fit and made so much trouble (along with demonstations by his parishioners, etc.) that they left him where he was.
From their website:

If he said that, he goin to JAIL.
And another gun grabber demonstrates the depth of his devotion to non-violence. </s
And STILL the Illinois legislature wants to disarm the citizenry.
Does anyone else catch the immense irony in someone condemning “violent, dangerous” guns by endorsing the slaughter of gun sellers?
I also apologize on behalf of Catholics everywhere that this man is a priest at a pulpit instead of a guy with a cardboard sign on a street corner. Yet another fruit of our spineless hierarchy!
