Recreational Boats Considered a Homeland Security Threat

JACKSONVILLE, FL -- The Memorial Day holiday means it's a day on the water with the family.

Chuck Singleton does what he can to makes sure his kids are safe out here. The concern is who else is out there.

"You don't know where they come from," said Singleton. "You know, they could load up with a bomb or whatever and come right out here."

With thousands of boats on the waterways, the worry is the recreational boat is now a Homeland Security threat.

"Just the sheer numbers and ability to hide among recreational traffic is something that makes it difficult for me to find the threat and address it," said Admiral Thad Allen, Commandant of the U.S. Coast Guard.

A simple boat could be used as a weapon.

"Just the fuel, this has 85 gallons in this boat and that's bomb itself," said Singleton.

The head of the U.S. Coast Guard is throwing around a couple of ideas on how to keep you safe.

One would require licenses for all boaters in all states.

The other would call for transponders on recreational boats so authorities can track their location.

"Anything to improve our coast and help everybody out, we need to do it. We just have to get control over this. I think it would be a good idea," said Singleton.

Those against the licensing or the use of transponders believe the Coast Guard needs to set up a small perimeter, a safety zone, in areas of concern, so small boats can't get into certain areas.

And..., on all wheeled vehicle and trailers! For good measure..., include anyone wearing clothes (since they could hide a bomb)! In fact, a transponder on every creature..., great or small!

At the current rate of things, soon one will need a prescription for alcohol and tobacco. So when this occurs, and it will based on the current trends, be sure you have a prescription for any alcohol or tobacco you may have on board your private vessel. Or else your boat will be impounded accumulating abundant usury fees, and you will go directly to jail where you can make usury bail.

Happy sailing.

“Cowards are never good leaders.
And right now that’s what we have, cowards afraid of their own shadow while simultaneously petrified of doing anything even remotely useful to end the threat. End the threat and you start losing your power over the hapless idiots looking to you for salvation.

So they hopelessly flail around and make lots of noise and useless gestures hoping to fool the citizens into thinking something is being done to “protect” them all the while praying the violent thrashing about frightens off the predators.

Sharks are drawn to signs of distress...”

They do hate us for that, but that is ironic. We shouldn't let them win in this way. Can't we be free and without a jihadist threat?
I'm not entirely sure that's possible sadly.

You're not thinking clearly enough. It IS possible.

Think this: no Islam, no jihad.

It's that simple.

And it's the only solution that can be possible if the West wishes to survive.

“Think this: no Islam, no jihad.”

I believe freedom of religion should end when a religion seeks to destroy the United States of America.
This is what Islam seeks. Be they radical or so called moderate, their beloved mohammed commands them to conquer and covert the entire world. Their greatest attempt to conquer America occurred on 911. The muslims believed that the destruction of the WTC’s would bring America to it’s knees. They viewed these financial monuments as the symbols of capitalism. Indeed they were. But they failed in their mission since America survived inspite of our treasured human life losses. This was a great defeat for Islam.

The problem I have with it is that it took two attempts to destroy the WTC’s to get our attention regarding Islam. And now, some 5 years later, we still have Americans who just don’t get it.

While we may not be able to rid the world of Islam, we sure best be able to rid America of Islam if we are to survive.

I must have missed the memo?

Or or forgot what the thread was initially about as you became side tracked away from how to protect our Nation's more vulnerable targets from terrorists on the waterways. The laws and personnel to enforce them have been in place since I was born to protect us from this kind of thing. We just have to know how and when to use them.

"When exactly was freedom, self determination, and self responsibility appropriated as a “militant libertarian”" point of view?

"I believe freedom of religion should end when a religion seeks to destroy the United States of America."

Exactly when? I don't know, maybe somewhere between post 137 and 147. I will fight till my death for God and Country, but when my Country turns away from God, I will fight till my death for God.
