Border Guard officer recovering from Saturday's shooting attack in Jerusalem receives visit from internal security minister, says experience 'was just like watching a movie'

Isam Abu-Rish, the Border Guard officer wounded in Saturday's shooting attack in Jerusalem, knows things could have been much worse.

"I was at the checkpoint with a few of the other guards when two ordinary looking guys showed up," he recalled from his hospital bed on Sunday. "There was nothing suspicious about them, and then all of a sudden one of them shot me in the back, from point-blank range.

"I pulled away, and I saw he was trying to take another shot, but his gun jammed, and I shot him. The other terrorist started running at me, so I shot him too.

"It was like something out of a movie," he added. "They were even shouting 'Allahu Akbar'."

Rish said he has every intention of returning to full service as a Border Guard offices when he recovers.

Security forces continued their investigation into Saturday's shooting, finding that both terrorists were from the village of Jabel Mukaber near Jerusalem.

Both were 23, and carrying Israeli IDs. The death of a third Palestinian, believed a bystander, is still under investigation.

Internal Security Minister Avi Dichter visited the two wounded security personnel at Hadassah Ein Kerem Sunday, accompanied by top police brass.

"The fact that the attack was carried out by Arabs carrying Israeli IDs makes last night's event that more serious," said Dichter. "Unfortunately, this isn't an unusual event, we must prevent such things from reoccurring," he added.

Why we don't take more advantage of these target rich opportunities is beyond my comprehension.

I can’t help but think that if that happened on our border, the guard would be in jail not the hospital.

You are right. The ACLU would viciously attack him.

Each day the Islamic enemy in Gaza offers incredible multi-targets which would result in greatly thinning their ranks (in addition to their ongoing street war with fellow Fatah (PLO) terrorists.

Good for him!!!! I hope he is up soon and back doing his job. Meanwhile, we still have two of our border patrol officers still in jail! Nice, huh?

Re the bottom photo:

Napalm, I think. Followed up by a few passes by an A-10 to brush away any uncooked crumbs.

The man should be issued a medal of the highest order plus promoted.

Israel is taking the war directly to the enemy in Gaza. We need to do the same relating to Tehran & Damascus, for the sake of our troops in Iraq, and payback for all those troops murdered by jihadist entering Iraq via Iran & Syria.

Meanwhile the Islamic enemy continues infiltrating our own still not fully protected borders, hiding within groups of other illegal aliens.

When those guys come home at night to their families do their kids feel like they’re hugging a tree? Would that make them “EcoPalestinian’s”?

Since the article omitted this little tid-bit, I thought I’d point it out. Isam Abu-Rish is an arab shot by other arabs.

"all of a sudden one of them shot me in the back, from point-blank range."

Another fine example of the "bravery" of the slaves of satanallah, and the followers of muuuhHamhead (Pigs be inseminating her)!

Most likely when they return after a days worth of terrorism directed at Israel or other Arabs, they train their children to be identical jihadic thugs in training.

Excellent point on 'Isam Abu-Rish'.

Your 1899 Churchill quote was incredibly fitting at the conclusion of the 19th century and even more so for the current era. I have past on this prophetic comments to others.

"The slaves of satanallah" is a perfect description of the jihadist enemy.
