We’re out of control prosecuting attourneys, we shouldn’t have to deal with consequences.

Now pay your taxes I need a raise...

only the lacrosse coach/the team and most importantly these 3 innocents will need the rest of their lives to try and re-establish their permanently damaged reputations....

Before Saturday's NCAA Championship lacrosse semi-final games one of the two ESPN2 announcers said something like: last year the Duke team was dealing with the well-publicized off campus allegations. Not a word to a national audience about their complete exoneration to the point of being declared innocent. I was shocked at this neglect-to-mention on a sports network.

“Call it the Mike Nifong effect.”

Very few people get the opportunity to “change the landscape” in their field — let alone lend their name to a related effect.

In a perverse way, Nifong has achieved greatness — even though it was through spectacular failure, rather than extraordinary success.

Duke can't move--they've got one of the prettiest campuses in the country with all those Gothic buildings. The only hope would be to secede from the city of Durham.

After all, secession is an old North Carolina tradition.

"There are some very angry people at district attorneys," [Peg] Dorer said.

Her talk pretty one day too.

Then she can sing...

    Me talk pretty
    Oh so pretty
    Me talk pretty
    As pretty
    Can be!

As I see it, the city of Durham is the biggest part of the problem, and the one kid's (Finnerty) father pretty much said the same thing in that last 60-Minutes interview; you have to figure that anybody with any thoughts about going to school at Duke was watching that. In a story with a large cast of villains, the biggest villain to my thinking is the ordinary little black schlamozzle living in or around Durham who was part of that 95% vote which returned Fong to office in November after the basic realities of the story were well known. THAT is inexcusable; you have to assume that those guys view the voting franchise much as Hitler viewed the V2 rocket, i.e. as a revenge weapon. They either should not be voting or they should not be living near any innocent people who they could harm BY voting.

Early admissions are down more than 20% and those are the kids who had to make an immediate decision; kids with more time to think about it are likely to find other options at a much higher rate.

Couple all of that grief with the reality that the physical plant of Duke dates from the 1800s and is totally inadequate for a major modern university, and to my thinking the school has to move, I don't see an alternative.

It has been a long time since I’ve been on the Duke campus but I don’t recall the buildings being that old—I think most were built in the 20th century. They have a huge amount of money invested in the buildings—I don’t think it would be practical to move elsewhere. After the lawsuits resulting from the lacrosse case, they won’t have much money left...

I’m guessing that the new owners may decide to move the school...

Duke has 5.1 billion. I doubt they will be bankrupted. The worst that could happen is that Duke medical center could be closed until it can be completely re certified, and they may lose no higher than 136 million - worst case. Sodhead is likely gone and maybe anger studies too though. My guess is that they will get out of this for about 17 million more than they already paid.

the woman who caused all this pain is free and loose and breeding.

The question is: Why? She broke the law. In fact she has committed many felonies over the years and they don't prosecute her. Why?

If she's really totally crazy why does she have custody of her children?

Very good, but Nifong and the false-accuser are not in jail, so justice has not been done.

"For whatever reason, Mr. Nifong has become a sort of poster boy to criminal defense lawyers," said Joshua Marquis, the district attorney for Clatsop County, Oregon. "

Ah, another clueless person with authority way in over his head.

Why? because she is a Black female.

The chicken hearted DA’s havent the nerve to start something they know they are too cowardly to finish.
I aso doubt you could find a jury in the Carolina’s that would find her guilty as long as one black had to sit on that jury.
