Direct TV has about 9 stations in HD right now, no word but I'm assumung you will have to get a new HD MPEG4 HD receiver to receive the new channels.
Right now I have the TIVO DirectTV HD box that apparently will not be compatible with the new channels, the DVR that DirectTV gives you without TIVO really sucks.

Does this mean current Direct tv HD boxes will have to be changed? I haven’t been to happy with Direct’s 7 channel lineup.

Good thing about cable/satellite is you can upgrade the receiver technology at no added cost.
