If you count snarky, condescending comments about car washes and fast food restaurants as “intelligent discussion” you are well servered to have joined Bray in the white flag brigade.

I wrote Senators about Richardson’s honoring of North Korea’s seizure of our warship. I will never forgive that scumbag.

I hate to say this...but on this weekend especially, I am really disappointed in Sessions’ rhetoric.

Do we have the exact quote on that?

Yes it is intelligent discussion...because where I live, a lot of those jobs are done by a mix of people that are possibly illegal.

I don’t know though. You see, my husband’s best friend at work is from Mexico..he looks Mexican, and speaks with an accent that lets you know that.

BUT, he fought in Vietnam...and is a good, good person.

Now...as far as what bray was saying, I think that one reason we “need” these temporary or guest workers is because unlike in my generation of young people...I don’t see the biggest majority of high school kids in my area even holding down jobs...unless they are at a mall or something.

I think there IS a way to discuss this subject intelligently and without snarky remarks...I suggest you try it.

Of course that is just between you and me....so we don’t get flamed....LOL

^^^^^

Shh! I agree with you. Don’t tell anybody.

We used to have seasonal workers in the US and the people who came for specific seasonal work, were happy to go home during the off season. Do Gooder libs stopped that process, in much the same way that they created the homeless problem by their ‘caring’ for the institutionalized incompetent people.

If our Congress had spent just a bit of the “oversight” that they are now spending in harassing the Bush Administration, in asking why our immigration service was not removing people who did not have legal permission to be here, we would not have the numbers that we have today. My conclusion is that members of Congress are complicit in the quasi-legality that these millions of workers have today. A Whole Lot of looking the other way has been going on.

An INS agent harassed me and my husband for days when we were in San Diego because he did not think that we had dotted all the ‘I’s when we sailed there from Canada. The San Diego office was fond of fining Canadian sailors for various infractions of “the letter of the law.” I know that they harassed us because it made them feel “good about their jobs.” I am and was then a US citizen, but our boat was registered in Canada.

When I saw the manhours used on our “case” I realized that the INS wes totally out of control, and the system was broken. This was way back when Reagan was president, and GHWB was campaigning — October 1988.

Here is how RedState paraphrased it:

“Alabama Republican Jeff Sessions argued that “we can’t achieve everything we want to achieve.” He said that if things haven’t improved dramatically by the time General Petraeus reports in September, Republicans will begin to defect. Levin questions why they should wait until September.
Schieffer suggested that they had made news, and everyone went home happy.”

Here are the main reasons as I see them for allowing the Z factor or mainstreaming 20-30 million walkabouts:

1. The dems want it so they will have the vote in their favor for the next 30-50 years.

2. The pubbies want it so they can have cheap labor.

3. The dems want it so they will have the vote in their favor for the next 30-50 years.

4. The pubbies want it so big business will keep donating mega bucks to them.

5. The dems want is so the will have the vote in their favor for the next 30-50 years.

6. The pubbies want it so the Hispanic voters will not think we are racists(even though all we are doing is obeying the law).

7. The dems want it so the will have the vote in their favor for the next 30-50 years.

8. The pubbies want it so business can expand from the US to Mexico with more ease than now.

9. The dems want it so they will have the vote in their favor for the next 30-50 years.

10. The pubbies want it for all the wrong reasons.

Pretty much sums it up.

The short of it: Yes both houses

The long of it: If enough people unify this could be reversed and stopped. Continue to write and call, and I would add to start writing Fox News so they have plenty of email for next week demanding detailed coverage of senate bill happenings.

The only reason I think we’re going to lose is because when the elites unify they are hard to beat. They own the media, govt, both parties, and Mexican influence...So we have a tough job on our hands!

“Do you think the Immigration bill will pass?

Thanks for responding”

Things have all ready dramatically improved in Iraq but our Political class will be the 2nd to last to admit it. The very last will, of course, be the so called “News Media”.

No..I didn’t post it verbatim in that one post.

He said that even though we can’t leave Iraq to be taken over as a terrorist’s haven, we can’t be an occupying force..and when asked if he thinks that Pres. Bush feels the same way..

HE used the MSM spinning of the MSM of the New York Times article to suggest that Pres. Bush MIGHT be getting it because of the report of a possible reduction of forces in 2008.

I MUST point out, though...that at that point, both Bob Scheiffer and Carl Levin were high-fiving and doing victory laps so...if Sessions wanted to revise and extend his remarks..they were NOT going to let him.

Carl proclaimed that they have “another one” to add to their list of Republicans that they can hopefully sign on to override a veto...next time.

Obama has been using the “vote count” in every single campaign speech he has given.. Telling the crowds NOT what is best for American national security..or how HE would win the war..

NO..his whole speech is about how he and the DEMS are doing everything in their power to get enough GOP Senators to cross over to vote with them to get out of Iraq...ASAP.

I am sure that you could find a transcript at CBS’ website however...for an exact quote.
