Not an Air America Radio story but along a similar vein. Once again, people try to copy Rush's success and fail miserably by only caring about what they want, ignoring the listener.

Here’s another take on this ala the “It couldn’t possibly be because the product sucks so it must be censorship”.

Great, now we can hear “blinded by the light”, “working for a livin’” and that awful steely dan song that goes “are you reelin in the years”, (or something like that) every day again. I was going crazy not hearing those three songs every afternoon.

Well guess what they lost a customer! The same safe boring radio every one else on the dial is spewing. The day radio died a miserable death!

I understand that they were really hit hard when Howard Stern left.
They are still keeping Opie and Anthony, however. Whether this consistutes giving the people what they want, I cannot say, but they are on tape delay so they won’t be truly satisfying.

The Free FM station in San Francisco just reverted back to KFRC, the oldies station, on 106.9 after being dropped from 99.7 after many, many years. KFRC was replaced about 6 months ago with an urban hip-hop station, Movin' 97.
The call sign was just transferred to 106.9 last week.

Down here in FL we don’t have any music of your life type station. I would love to have a station playing the old standards, 40’s and big band and such.
They are all rock, 60s 70s 80s stuff. One light jazz, and some Spanish. Some country, some hiphop. That’s it.

I have to wonder why talk is mostly, almost all, on AM stations. I'm sure there is a reason but I don't know it.
AM reception suxor where I work. It would be nice to have Rush et. al. on FM.

K-Rock was the only rock station in NYC before they took it off the air...then there were none. I’m so glad that when I go back to visit, my old station will be back! Great news! :)

They took Ron and Fez off the air after the moved from number 26 to number 2 in one rating book.
Ron and Fez have a great show. The ratings improved and the commercial spots they read on the show were laugh out loud funny.

I'm a big fan of classic rock, so this would have been great news in New York City.
Unfortunately, 92.3 (WXRK) is owned by CBS Radio -- and I have steadfastly refused to listen to any CBS stations since those bastard fired Don Imus.
