One reason why we’re hearing Blix whining like this now is because that moron, Olmert, publicly announced that Israel has nuclear weapons last year. Everyone knew they had them, but the policy was never to say so openly.
When I was a student at the Air War College (1971), one day we had a talk by the Israeli Ambassador. One of my fellow students asked him if he'd describe the Israeli policy for release of nuclear weapons. At that time, they didn't publicly admit having them. Of course he declined to comment.

...[Olmert] is unfortunately a consumate politician and ... it does not seem that the Israelis will get rid of him until the next scheduled election...I think and hope you are wrong on that. His popularity rating in Israel now is in the microscopic range, and there was a huge demonstration in Tel Aviv last month calling for his resignation.
