The Women's Ministry Council (at the national level) conducts worship ceremonies for 'Sophia', the 'goddess of wisdom'. (Or at least they used to. I haven't kept up with what's going on with the UM church since we left it.)

When members of the national council have been confronted about this Sophia worship, they try to claim that it's just another name for God, who is wisdom. :::cough, cough, what a crock, cough:::
