I don’t understand what you mean. The south generally votes conservative no matter who is on the ticket. Gore didn’t even win Tennessee and he is from here. In the last 4 elections, I voted Clinton (God forgive me) Dole, Bush, Bush. I wanted to vote for Bush One but I let my husband talk me into voting for Clinton against my better judgement. I vowed I would never again allow anyone to tell me how to vote. My husband came around though and is now a proud conservative.
