INDIAN OCEAN (May 20, 2007) - Lt. Cmdr. Spencer Moseley (from left), Lt. Alex Dietrich, Senior Chief Aviation Machinists Mate Dean Carlson and Chief Machinists Mate Al Palacios, assigned to the nuclear-powered aircraft carrier USS Nimitz (CVN 68), train for the upcoming Boulder 10K marathon being held in Boulder, Colo. Nimitz Sailors will compete virtually in the event by running the marathon utilizing treadmills aboard the ship. The Nimitz Carrier Strike Group and embarked Carrier Air Wing (CV) 11 are deployed in the U.S. 5th Fleet conducting maritime operations and supporting troops participating in Operation Enduring Freedom. The sailor in the red shirt practising for the virtual Boulder Marathon, is my granddaughter, Lt. Alex Anne Dietrich who pilots a Super Hornet on the Nimitz.
