"My only explanation is that it is medically related in some way," Migden, 56, said in an interview with The Chronicle.
The Democratic lawmaker who represents San Francisco and Marin County said she plans to underdo neurological tests to try to determine what may have happened.
"I owe an explanation to the public and myself and, in particular, the person I hurt,'' she said, referring to the driver of a Honda sedan who was slightly injured in a rear-end collision. "I don't have a recollection of what happened. I can only conclude I had a medical event I can't explain. It's not an excuse; it may be an explanation."
Migden said she was diagnosed with leukemia in 1997 and could not find a match for a bone marrow transplant. She said medications that she took after her diagnosis caused her to lose her hair but not her will to fight the disease.
In February her doctors at UCSF told her she was disease free, but she still takes six chemotherapy pills a day. She chose not to make her medical condition public.

She means, she din't want to see herself as a gonefromtheSenater.
Considering her duties and responsibilities, shouldn't medication that disorients & impairs her, especially (supposedly) without her knowledge of being impaired & disoriented, be a factor in whether or not to elect her?
Self-serving B*@#H.
The leukemia defense?
It is wise not to take her statement at face value. Unfortunately, politicans are not known for being straightforward when they get into trouble.
She may indeed be telling the truth. But that also damns her reckless judgment.
Better odds betting on roulette than a pol's honesty.
Not necessarily the first time.
She doesn’t remember, remember?
It could have happened innumerable (Remember, ZERO is a number that can’t be enumuerated, too. LOL) times in the past that she neither remembers nor caused a noticible stir...
...except maybe when she wandered into the Assembly Chambers, and pressed the ‘AYE’ button on an absent Republican’s seat, thus illegally voting for a bill she had introduced into the Senate.
Another Democrat elitist who had leukemia

Thanks. I can only imagine how the Statesman would eulogize a Republican who had been caught in kickbacks and bank fraud schemes.
“OPHELIA” I must have been in one of my stupors when I wrote that.
