Apparently, my position on immigration is that we must deport all 12 million illegal aliens immediately, inasmuch as this is billed as the only alternative to immediate amnesty. The jejune fact that we "can't deport them all" is supposed to lead ineluctably to the conclusion that we must grant amnesty to illegal aliens — and fast!
I'm astounded that debate has sunk so low that I need to type the following words, but: No law is ever enforced 100 percent.
We can't catch all rapists, so why not grant amnesty to rapists? Surely no one wants thousands of rapists living in the shadows! How about discrimination laws? Insider trading laws? Do you expect Bush to round up everyone who goes over the speed limit? Of course we can't do that. We can't even catch all murderers. What we need is "comprehensive murder reform." It's not "amnesty" — we'll ask them to pay a small fine.
If it's "impossible" to deport illegal aliens, how did we come to have so much specific information about them? I keep hearing they are Catholic, pro-life, hardworking, just dying to become American citizens, and will take jobs other Americans won't. Someone must have talked to them to gather all this information. Let's find that guy — he must know where they are!
How do we even know there are 12 million of them? Why not 3 million, or 40 million? Maybe we should put the guy who counted them in charge of deporting them.
If the 12-million figure is an extrapolation based on the number of illegal immigrants in public schools or emergency rooms and well-manicured lawns in Brentwood, then shouldn't we be looking for them at schools and hospitals and well-manicured lawns in Brentwood?
Listen troll, we have laws on the books regarding entering this country. We need to enforce those laws. Do you believe we should officially have open borders? I believe we should deport as many of the Mexican Invaders as we can and outlaw the employment of any of the Invaders.

Since Teddy Kennedy's 1965 Immigration Act, more than half of all legal immigrants have been unskilled, non-English-speaking Mexicans. America takes in roughly 1 million legal immigrants each year. Only about 30,000 of them have Ph.D.s. Why on earth would any rational immigration policy discriminate against immigrants with Ph.D.s in favor of unskilled, non-English-speaking immigrants?

How about each of us just counting the 'day laborers' one sees on any given day in any town or city, giving them a -15% benefit of the doubt that they are illegals, and coming up with a little more realistic number? Of course, that doesn't include the wives, mothers, sisters, and kids who are not out in the open. They're stealing America. I see approximately 100 each and every weekday morning, standing on the street corners of the small town where I work. They wait like prostitutes for their Job Pimps to pick them up and pay them some cash.

I can’t figure out what the draw is to making these people legal. I can only surmize they got together and decided we needed them for more than just mowing lawns. I wonder if this isn’t some sneaky plan to find lots of workers to replace the retiring baby boomers. We know once the baby boomers are in full retirement SS and Medicade will be toast so here is a way to bump up the ration of workers to retirees. Why else would we really invite these people to join the others at the trough.
Good question ~ how do we know how many illegal aliens there really are. Classically we developed that number by looking at US Money orders cashed at US/Mexico border post offices. Over the last decade they've moved away from that "simplistic" methodology into more esoteric stuff.
However, the old system and the newer systems do not consider the fact that illegal aliens have gotten a major pay raise, on average, as the phenomenon has moved into higher paid categories of employment, e.g. narcotrafficante, MS13 gang enforcer, and so forth, as well as copy editors, machinists, computer programmers, New Jersey Senator (will someone check that guy's visa), etc.
There could be as few as 3 million of them.

Duncan Hunter’s record makes him the best man to take on the illegal immigration and border security problem. He has been saying repeatedly that he will build the fence in six months. Seal up the border and then enforce the laws. Arrest and deport.

I know of a black guy who was in prison for four years. When the child support agency pulled his Dept of Labor records based on his SSN they found his number was being used by a woman with a hispanic surname who was working at JC Penney in Miami while he was incarcerated!
Obviously, she showed up with a valid SSN that didn’t match the name and a major employer hired her anyway!
It’s still an enforcement problem because they shouldn’t be threatening civil rights complaints. That also needs to be fixed, but I refuse to believe there are no construction jobs Americans won’t do. I know plenty of guys right now (ex cons included) who would love to do their construction jobs.
We should have absolutely full employment and more importantly, no one on welfare in this country before we open up an industry to guest workers. The only one I can think of is agriculture and there is a program in place for true MIGRANT workers who are here legally and return to Mexico when the harvest is complete.
