Key California Republican Group Endorses Ron Paul

ARLINGTON, VA – The United Republicans of California (UROC) have unanimously endorsed Congressman Ron Paul for president of the United States. UROC, formed in 1963 to support Barry Goldwater, represents the traditional conservative wing of the California Republican Party.

“The unanimous endorsement from the United Republicans of California proves what the campaign has been saying all along,” said campaign chairman Kent Snyder. “Ron Paul is the only true conservative and real Republican in the race.”

In their official statement endorsing Dr. Paul, UROC called him “the leading advocate for freedom in our nation’s capital” and recognized that:

Ron Paul’s voting record demonstrates that he has voted against:

· raising taxes;
· unbalanced budgets;
· a federal restriction on gun ownership;
· raising congressional pay; or
· increasing the power of the executive branch.

His voting record demonstrates further that he voted against:

· the USA Patriot Act;
· regulating the Internet; and
· the war in Iraq.

Dr. Paul is the only candidate with a record that matches the UROC’s platform.

“Whether the issue is life, the Second Amendment, foreign policy, spending or taxes, Ron Paul is the only traditional conservative candidate,” continued Snyder. “Traditional conservatives across the country should support Ron Paul for president.”

Dr. Paul is the only candidate with a record that matches the UROC’s platform of batty isolationism.

I don’t have anything other than what he has said to go on. He’s an inspiring candidate, but that’s not enough. I feel the same way about Fred Thompson: like Thompson could be a globalist, and probably is, Dr. Paul may be so much of an isolationist that he’d let Iran go nuclear.

Rather than interfere in the policies of other sovereign nations I prefer the method of building a military defense shield that quietly says, “Attack me and you will instantly become just a memory.” A quiet, sincere warning that we will follow through with!.

No long drawn out debates with their ambassadors or the vote counts at the UN Council, just an immediate big bang with not a single penny of reconstruction money.

Then we sit back and say, “They were warned not to mess with the US and they chose not to listen. Now they have paid the price. Who’s next?”

I wish the American people would do the same to our legislators who refuse to listen to us. We need to figure out a way to quietly give them a sincere warning.

Yea you would love it if he wasn't your guy... bottom line Ron Paul been drifting slowly out to the fringe for years ... and if I was going to the isolationist right... Pat Buchanan would a more viable choice..

I can appreciate isolationist sentiment... but the issue was moot as of 9/11/2001 just as it was on 12/7/1941 ...

Blaming American foreign policy (in zero historical context)for either is more in-line with a Chomskyite with vapid Michael Moore visions of passive kite flying flower picker as victim of evil blood for oil American Imperialism

40,000 men with no bullets in our guns would make an impression.

Let’s make it 50,000 solemn men, quietly carrying unloaded rifles past their offices.

Do you think that might cause them to pray they would never have to see 50,000 solemn men, quietly aiming loaded rifles at their offices?

Do you think the idea is worth proposing to the members here on FR? That would certainly get the website in the news headlines.

I would prefer it if Islamism did not exist and if Muslims did not believe in conquering the world. I would prefer it if communist China were not trying to become an evil hegemon.
However, I live in the real world.

Rather than interfere in the policies of other sovereign nations I prefer the method of building a military defense shield that quietly says, “Attack me and you will instantly become just a memory.”

This is a reasonable perspective. I think we're already past the point where "instant memories" are reasonable, but then again, I value my own people more than anything else in the world. It's old-fashioned, I know.

I think we're reasonable to demand an end to proliferation. Maybe this is a sliver of globalism left in me, but I think the future will be brighter without additional countries joining the nuclear and/or WMD club. I find it extremely ironic that Free Republic advocated George W. Bush as a WMD-hunter extraordinare, yet Iran and the DPRK may have already gone nuclear by the time he's out of office. I can't tell the difference between this and the last administration, given the fact that both had Iraq in their sights. But I digress. We have the means to erradicate our enemies. We just don't seem to love our own people enough to do it.

I wish the American people would do the same to our legislators who refuse to listen to us.

MAD isn't working with them. Trouble is, they're elected. They represent us. Think about that long and hard. As an aside, remember that it took a statesman like Themistocles to trick the Greeks into preparing for the second war with Persia. Free people would rather pursue wealth than defend themselves, or their liberties. Left to their own devices, they'll let Athens fall every time. MAD wasn't Themistocles' method. He found a motivation the people liked (conquest) and had them build ships with their new wealth, promising that they'd become even richer (which they did, as far as I know). But the ships were there when the Greeks needed to fight the Persians again, just as Themistocles had predicted.

Dick Morris is right. And I'll take it a step further. Demographics are against democratic resolution to the crisis before English-speaking Americans. You talk MAD, the people are against you. In 1775, they were with the Minute Men. Now they're against them. Demographics are for real. So is 60 years of multicultural propaganda spewed in order to prove to the world that we're not now, nor ever would be fascist (something we never needed to prove anyway). It has taken a toll, my friend.

My challenge for you: are we ready to face the facts? We must before we continue working to save our country. Ignoring these facts will simply translate into invalid action.

#2 He has never put forth any meaningful legislation that went anywhere.

#3 He’s the only candidate who has NO endorsements from his collegues in congress.

AuntB, please point out the BAD in these. Blackbird.

If you’ve missed the obvious, I can’t explain it further. The worst thing Ron Paul did was hand over the last debate to Rudy.

FOX News handed the debate to Rudy, and Rudy blew it by interrupting Ron Paul with a baseless attack.

To be clear, Hunter voted for the 2003 Medicare boondoggle, perhaps the most expensive piece of legislation of all time. He is not for less government. He is for perhaps growing it slower than the dems, except for when he feels the need to vote for a boondoggle like medicare becasue he thinks it is good politics.

Liberals would like to think so. Thanks for the reminder of Hunter's support of unconstitutional, liberal spending additions.

Rudy won the debate because of Paul. The audience loved RUDY when he went after Paul. Interpret it anyway you like, that’s the facts of it.
