NEW YORK SUN ARTICLE, Feb. 2005
Pursuant to the above referenced article, Aaron Tonken was wearing a government wire for evidence gathering in the Hillary campaign finance fraud that began in 2000 and continues to this day. When discovery in Paul v Clinton finally begins later this year, much light is going to be shed on those who want certain information to remain hidden.
When the Paul and Clinton saga began, Ed Rendell was then the chairman of the DNC. On Jan. 31, 2003, he was sworn in as Governor of Pennsylvania.
Overlooked in any of the mainstream media reporting is something I just learned in a conversation today with Peter Paul. Peter met personally with Tonken in 2004. Tonken told Peter how Ed Rendell had offered him a job to work for the State of Pennsylvania for a salary of $100,000.
PENNSYLVANIA GOVERNOR ED RENDELL and AARON TONKEN
There are two obvious problems with the job offer from Rendell. First, Tonken had no qualifications that would have given him consideration for such a position. Second, TONKEN HAD ALREADY BEEN INDICTED IN CALIFORNIA for his charity fundraising crimes. He is still serving time in prison, currently at Terminal Island in Southern California.
Because those involved in the Hillary campaign all knew that the FBI was investigating, and certainly Rendell knew it, is it possible that Rendell was trying to buy Tonken's silence? That is a reasonable assumption and one that needs to be investigated.
I have asked the media office of Gov. Rendell for some answers and hope they will give a response. If they do, their side of the story will be reported.

Subject: Gov. Rendell to be a witness in Paul v Clinton
XXXXX, it was a pleasure speaking with you.
Governor Rendell has been named on the witness list to be called for testimony in the Los Angeles Superior Court civil trial of Paul v Clinton. Discovery is expected to begin shortly after the California Appellate Court determines whether Hillary Clinton will be brought back into the case as a defendant. I am writing a story for FreeRepublic.com, and am putting the finishing touches on a documentary film. If the governor has some comments, I would be pleased to include them so that his side of the story is heard.
Aaron Tonken will also be testifying. For a certain period of time, Tonken was wearing a government wire. Tonken has claimed that the governor offered him a state job paying $100,000. From the information I have so far gathered, that job was offered to Tonken after Tonken was indicted in California on several charges regarding charitable fundraising.
I would be grateful for some input on the following:
1. Does the governor have a comment about being on the witness list?
2. Can the governor comment on the job offer to Tonken?
3. Can the governor shed light on the reporting of the in-kind contribution by Peter Paul, who paid for an Al Gore fundraiser at the Beverly Hills Hotel in early 2000 put on by Mr. Rendell when he was head of the DNC? I can find no record that the in-kind contribution was ever reported.
4. At the Al Gore fundraiser, Paul claims that he gave a stock pledge of $150,000. I can find no record that the stock pledge was reported. Can you help me find that reporting?
5. On August 14, 2000, pursuant to a call sheet I have seen from the offices of Stan Lee Media, Mr. Rendell made a call to Paul that was listed on the callsheet as "emergency." A short time later, another call came in from Lloyd Grove of the Washington Post. Can the governor make a comment on that conversation?
Thank you very much for your help in this matter.
...Doug XXXXX

FREEPERS, if anyone has a reasonable explanation for why the job was offered to Tonken, I would like to hear it.

The Gulf of Tonken incident?
When Tonken discussed this with Peter during their meeting, Tonken understood it to be a bribe.

That never bothered 'Fast Eddie' before.
Second, TONKEN HAD ALREADY BEEN INDICTED IN CALIFORNIA for his charity fundraising crimes.
That's a badge of honor among Rendell's union pals.

Clinton Backer’s Firm Alleged to Aid Scammers
BY JOSH GERSTEIN - Staff Reporter of the Sun
May 22, 2007
A Nebraska entrepreneur facing allegations that his firm does business with scam artists targeting the elderly, Vinod Gupta, has directed more than $3 million in the past decade to political campaigns and projects connected with President Clinton and Senator Clinton.
Mr. Gupta’s company, infoUSA, Inc., repeatedly rented marketing databases to unscrupulous individuals who used the lists to engage in fraud, according to the New York Times. A front-page article in the Sunday paper said the company promoted a list called “Suffering Seniors,” which featured ailing older people, and other lists of “Elderly Opportunity Seekers” and those deemed to be “gullible.”
Mr. Gupta, the chairman and CEO of infoUSA, has been one of the most generous benefactors to causes affiliated with the Clintons. He donated $2 million to a national millennium celebration organized by Mrs. Clinton’s White House office, according to a book published by her chief fund-raiser, Terence McAuliffe. Mr. Gupta also gave $1 million for the construction of Mr. Clinton’s presidential library in Little Rock, Ark. excerpt.
