Both of these countries having been under the rooskie/soviet boot for many years want it......I’ll trust their judgement.

The U.S. wants to place 10 anti-ballistic missile interceptors in Poland and a radar system in the Czech Republic to protect against attacks from "rogue" states like Iran. Russia has vehemently protested the plan saying it would alter the balance of power in Europe and threathen stability.
Russia has a pathological dislike of the idea of anybody putting any restrictions on the aggressive capabilities of rogue states.
