Claims he supports cloture to get the bill to the floor, then threatens to vote it down at that time.

We will now hear from the democrats what great fellows Bush, Guitterez(sp), Martinez and McCain are. It will non-stop praise of the republican supporters of this amnesty bill.

from Dean Barnett over at Hughhewitt.com:
The president has rendered himself irrelevant with this idiotic gamble. What was he thinking? Were at the most critical stage of an unpopular war, and he decides that its the perfect moment to go to the mattresses over the issue that most effectively separates him from his base? Either this was a piece of masterful Rovian political jujitsu thats beyond my ken, or it was just flat out dumb.
I have no clue, but it is a huge blunder (unless the “unify North America” people are calling the shots here)

You know something smells with this bill when a Democrat (Ken Salazar) is praising GWBush and his representatives for their hard work on this bill.

"If existing laws cannot be enforced whats the point of new ones?"
From what I can tell the main problem is that people are getting around them.

I will not be responding to you. Just a reminder.

God bless the state of Alabama for having someone like Sessions representing them. Unfortunately next door here in Georgia our two state senators are leaning towards the Mexican Illegal Lobby. Sen Chambliss because of his kowtowing to the South Georgia Farmers and their desire for cheap labor instead of mechanized machinery and to Senator “Do Nothing” Isakson.

This Salazar is a lying skunk. Ranting about how this bill promotes the rule of law. Not amnesty, of course...lots of triggers...18,000 border patrol agents...370 miles of fencing.
Sickening...I can barely listen...

Claims he supports cloture to get the bill to the floor, then threatens to vote it down at that time.He wants to craft a better bill. He will vote against the current bill. This opens the path to amendments and possible passage of a bill.

Salazar is joyfully saying that a third of those who are here illegally, actually entered legally, and just overstayed their visas.
[So???? They are still illegals, Senator. They are still breaking the law. Try enforcing the existing laws before saddling us with another boondoggle immigration bill.]
