......Ted Kennedy waited until the last minute to make the draft bill public....most senators will be in the dark when they debate it.....the text now circulating is astonishing. Just when it is becoming clear that overwhelming majorities of Americans - of all parties and all races - say they want stronger enforcement of our laws, the bill would take the country full speed in the opposite direction....legalizing most of the 12-20M illegal aliens via a new "Z visa." Each would pay $3,000 - only slightly more than the going rate to be smuggled into America......provisions buried in the fine print are far more outrageous.
1) To qualify for Z-visa amnesty, an illegal need only have a job (or be the parent, spouse, or child of someone with a job) and a scrap of paper suggesting he was in the country before Jan. 1 of this year. Any bank statement, pay stub, or similarly forgeable record will do.
2) Supporters of the bill call the Z visa "temporary" - neglecting to mention that it can be renewed indefinitely until the visa holder dies.....our country's first permanent temporary visa.
3) Many criminals and terrorists will find it easy to get a Z visa.
4) The bill effectively shuts down our immigration-court system.......The wheels of justice won't just turn slowly, they'll go in reverse.
5) The bill transforms the ICE from a law-enforcement agency into an amnesty-distribution center.
6) The bill even lets gang members get the amnesty..... as long as he simply signs a "renunciation of gang affiliation." He can keep his tattoos.
In Sen. Kennedy's America, "immigration enforcement" will become an oxymoron.....This bill isn't a "compromise" in any meaningful sense. It is a surrender.
Kris W. Kobach served as counsel to the US Attorney General, 2001-03.....chief adviser on immigration law.

“This is organized crime John Gotti could only dream of.”
I’m not so sure Gotti wouldn’t have been on our side : )
bttt
Mark Levin read this on his radio show today.
Like he said, this bill isn’t “amnesty” for illegals - - it’s Christmas!
What happens to the half million that have came over since January 2007? Guess that starts another round of amnesty for them at a later date.. by this time they will have spread their baby batter around and started their anchor baby families...
I hope he's also aiming at the dickweeds who are trying to foist the Destroy America Next Immigration Bill on us.
Teddy: ..and a fifth of Jose Cuervo.
Many of us parents have tried to instill in our children respect for laws. Rewarding those who flaunt our laws sends a terrible message and undermines our efforts to bring up our children to be law-abiding citizens.
