“Jude is fighting fines and penalties levied by the Washington Department of Labor and Industries for alleged violations of child labor laws with the family’s home-moving business.”

This is something us homeschoolers go through regularly.

Part of homeschooling is to make sure your child has a career, or trade, and knows how to run a business. Kids in school nowadays are basically taught how to go to school. But school eventually ends.

A lot of homeschoolers run home businesses and their kids participate as part of their education. My boys I apprenticed at ages 17 and 14. My oldest son was one of the youngest ever to get his ASE. By the time he graduated school he was a full fledged auto technician with many years experience. I’ll never have to worry about him.

Take that, do-gooders with your child labor laws.
