“Jude is fighting fines and penalties levied by the Washington Department of Labor and Industries for alleged violations of child labor laws with the family’s home-moving business.”

This is something us homeschoolers go through regularly.

Part of homeschooling is to make sure your child has a career, or trade, and knows how to run a business. Kids in school nowadays are basically taught how to go to school. But school eventually ends.

A lot of homeschoolers run home businesses and their kids participate as part of their education. My boys I apprenticed at ages 17 and 14. My oldest son was one of the youngest ever to get his ASE. By the time he graduated school he was a full fledged auto technician with many years experience. I’ll never have to worry about him.

Take that, do-gooders with your child labor laws.

I'm very sorry to hear that.  The State just keeps fighting you every step of the way, don't they?

Hopefully homeschoolers won't be cowed by the jackbooted thugs, as their children will lead far better lives as a result of their parents' hard work.
