All that is clear is that there must be explanations in the history of the Arab civilization that brought forth the world religion of Islam. This civilization reached its apogee at the time of the Caliphate. At this time, it was far superior to Europe in military, economic and cultural terms. The Arab world views this period with misty-eyed nostalgia; even today, 800 years later, it plays a central role in the consciousness of the region. In the intervening period, the power, the prestige, the cultural and economic weight of the Arab world has been in continual decline.

Islam is a bandit culture founded by a sand pirate. Mad Mo made his living from robbing caravans

Islam did OK as long as it was conquering and expanding -- as long as there was a steady inflow of loot and slaves who knew how to run a civilization. As soon as the expansion-by-conquest was halted in Europe, Islam went into decline. In modern day, look at the industrial base of most Muslim countries. What industrial base (except for oil industry staffed by Westerners)? The weakness of Islam is that their ideal is to be conquering bandits and live off loot
