They stopped what seems to have been a coordinated attack against multiple targets. That's not easy.
Depending on how much American involvement there was, it could be a sign of a sophisticated C3I capability for the Iraqis. If that's the case, then they're well on their way.
I know, it's C4ISR these days, but that's just a mouthful.
