The crowd booed South Carolina U.S. Sen. Lindsey Graham, a key ally of McCain in both his 2000 and 2008 presidential bids, when he said he had worked with U.S. Sen. Ted Kennedy, D-Mass., on the immigration legislation.
"It's the best bill I think we can get to President Bush," Graham said as some in the crowd shouted "No!"
Graham was cheered earlier in his speech when he talked about the war in Iraq. After the speech, Graham said he was booed on immigration because "it's an emotional topic. People are mad."
South Carolina's other U.S. senator, Jim DeMint, is on opposite sides from Graham: He supports Romney and said he opposes an immigration bill that allows permanent residency of illegal aliens.

Good. They need to feel the heat and know it is for real.
Reminds me of that idiot from New York Mikey Bloomersberg.
Best Bill we can hope to get rhetoric just does not cut it in my book.
Why sack America with more bad law that does not work.
Stand by, the FReepers who’ve been claiming The Grinnin’ Idjit graham is more conservative than Fred Thompson are about to descend on this thread.
Sure “people” are mad. To use Judge Judy’s favorite phrase, someone’s been peeing on our legs and calling it rain. Even on some “conservative” sites, I’m being told that this is “not” amnesty. Sure it’s not. And when the ‘Rats let the Bush tax breaks expire, that’s “not” raising taxes, either.
Sold out by our own, that’s the sorry state of things right now.
Sheesh, who says that? Graham has been sliding more to the left all the time. Right now, he’s barely more conservative than Geraldo, and not by much if so.
Well normally I’d say they should have thrown fruit and vegetables but they’re too expensive now !!!
Primary gomer pyle graham.
Excellent, he deserved to be booed. Huge atta boys to those who booed.
Senator: The war's over. Our side won the war. Now we must busy ourselves winning the peace. And Fletcher, there's an old saying: To the victors belong the spoils.
Fletcher: There's another old saying, Senator: Don't p*SS down my back and tell me it's raining.
kinda fits dont it.
Thinking about the fruit and vegetables, they’re probably from Mexico anyhow and therefore unfit for human consumption,so next speech by Graham go ahead and throw em !!!
A friend emailed that photo to me yesterday...it’s making the rounds. It’s one of those times in which a picture really is worth a thousand words. Graham’s right about the fact that people are mad...he just doesn’t have a clue as to why.
I think I remember saying that Lindsay Graham had done something good the other day. I guess it was a fluke, probably the good thing he did since the impeachment of clinton, and I can’t remember exactly what it was.
Pushing the amnesty bill is more typical of his idiot behavior over the past 8 years or so.
Graham and McCain- the Brokebutt Boys.
I don't know why US Senators would become so victimized by the beltway and media and lose sight of average Americans. It's easy to say this happens, but astounding that it does.
Thing that gets me is they believe there is this urgent need for "a solution" without recognizing they need to control the border first. Just incredible.
Expressions of anger and even rage can be appropriate. For example the mayor of Los Angeles recently addressed a local mob of illegal aliens in Spanish(Protest against the LAPD appropriately thumping some illegals.)He babbled about their “Derechos.” I do not recognize this wretch as legitimate. He is the leader of an invading force elected by them to occupy an American city.
Well, then, Mr. Graham, don't you think you should listen to the people? Sorry ass McCain backer!
