Images of Fetal Development
The following images were presented to Fr. Frank Pavone, at the time he was working at the Vatican, by a team of experts from Poland. The experts presented them also to Pope John Paul II.
Priests for Life is grateful to Professor Andrzej Skawina (Collegium Medicum Jagiellonian University, Krakow) and Dr. Antoni Marsinek, MD (Czerwiakowski Gynecological and Obstetrics Hospital, Krakow) for making these images available, and to the Zrodlo Foundation, Wychowawca Department, for the permission to use them.
We encourage pro-life groups and individuals to use these images, keeping in mind the words that pollster Harrison Hickman spoke to the 1989 conference of the National Abortion Rights Action League, "Nothing has been as damaging to our cause as the advances in technology which have allowed pictures of the developing fetus, because people now talk about that fetus in much different terms than they did fifteen years ago. They talk about it as a human being, which is not something that I have an easy answer how to cure."
CAVEAT: I am a commercial real estate broker, writer, and businessman. I have no medical training and don't play a doctor on television. But I am pretty sure that I seeing a developing human baby here.
AT SEVEN WEEKS:
If a mother cannot or will not take care of a child after it is born, a mistake was made. Terminate.
Sorry to be busting your chops, and I agree that it is a tragedy that so many children come into the world who are not wanted. Many will cause trouble during their lives. But only God has the right to play God. Our role is to try to make society better and try to give some hope to those born in terrible circumstances.
I think that the Rights you embrace need to be defined. Lets just say Life, Liberty, and Property as the main categories. You agree not to kill others, kidnap others, or steal their stuff. You expect them to do the same to you. This is all your rights are. A gentleman's agreement. The idea is that everyone should respect everyone else's rights. Of course some choose not to play by the rules, and this does not change the idea that they should. With the idea being that they should, they can never take it away from you.
To an individual alone on an island the notion of rights is pointless. With two or more there is a need for basic ground rules or rights.
Our role is to try to make society better and try to give some hope to those born in terrible circumstances. Many will cause trouble during their lives.............And many will suffer and cause many others to suffer........... The great society of LBJ has been the downfall of our inner cities and our rural poor. Advocating dependency only perpetuates our dilema. We hear the outcry on FR daily when CPS takes custody of children that the guvmint didn’t think was treated right. Sorry doug, sometimes you just gotta let it go, even if in your heart you know it ain’t right.
I agree with that staement. I also agree with the notion that visiting the sins of the father on the son is bad mojo. Abortion is immoral. Aborting children based on your divining their worth to society is an abomination. A righteous state takes care of those who can't care for themselves and insists that those who can do. If one fathers or mother's a child then they have the obligation to care for that child until the age of majority. If they can't do that then the state must step in. If they won't do that then the state also has an obligation to step in and make sure they do. Public flogging comes to mind.
Aborting children based on your divining their worth to society is an abomination. ..........Not my decision, not my call, but it should be the mothers in the first trimester. In Texas, we, as a state decide all the time who should live or die when it comes to the death penalty. When a woman conceives a child, drug deal payment or a prostitutes trick or just a wild night out, maybe she should have the option, and the consequences of an abortion. There is no vaccination for stupidity and many are inflicted by it, IMHO there is no need to perpetuate the cycle.
I spent three years in Texas at Fort Hood. The Texans I knew didn't equate murderers to innocent unborn babies. Have things changed that much these past 30 some odd years or so? Or has it been overtaken by liberal nuts who are wont to make such stupid arguments?
Yes they are innocent and unborn. Shall we let them suffer at the hands of poverty and the drug afflicted in a world where their parents lives are repeated with more unwanted children? Is making a 13 year old carry a baby to term in that childs best interest in todays society? Sorry, but sometimes it is better to turn your head than fight for what you think is right in your heart.Babies having babies IMHO ain’t right either but it happens and mostly with dire results. Usualy ends up another baby having a baby.
Of course not, we have to rip them limb from limb in the womb to save them. Look friend, I've heard all the crap you're selling many times before. I can coninue to rip your left wing loon arguments to shreds but to what point?
Left wing!!!Not at all, abortion has been around for centuries in on form or another. Probably around as long as prostitution. You keep crying for zero abortion, that will never happen no matter how much you wish it. Me personaly, I think abortion sucks but the reality is, it is part of our culture, at least limit it to the first trimester and gaurantee women in the second or third that the baby will be placed in a loving home.
Oh and by the way, first trimester abortions usualy are not dismebered by partial birth.
This statement reveals you have little or no knowledge of what you're talking about. Vacuum aspiration is the most common method of first trimester abortion. What, exactly, do you think happens to an unborn child when it is sucked from the womb?
I also am praying for your grandchild to be brought to life full term, mercat. And maybe pnsn has a thought. After being told I had a miscarriage, the end result was twin boys.
The deadness of the occasional ‘abortion as legitimate preener of society’ soul still astounds me, even after all these years. You realize, I’m sure my friend, that the poster cannot be reasoned with when the utility of slaughtering alive unborn is his/her prime valuation.
Unlike a second or third trimester, they are not dismembered or have their skulls crushed with forceps. Many in the first month are dispatched with a pill, correct me if I am wrong.
It's interesting that you find dispatching human beings with human pesticide to be less objectionable. That would sure come in handy for troublesome toddlers or crazy ol' grandpa, eh?
As I said earlier, abortion sucks but it will always be a part of society but government should not fund it.
Our technology has shattered the grotesque, animal-like depictions of life in the womb that led folks to envision a blob where a baby exists. These advancements are encouraging to anyone against abortion. Momentum is on the side of outlawing abortion, rather than continuing our nation's self-inflicted death.
bump
I would like to see some numbers on how many abortions are performed for a drug user, underage teen or adults just deciding they do not want another child or it is of the wrong sex. Bet the highest numbers would be for the later.
We've been twice blessed: in an eleven month period we had TWO premature grandchildren. Preemies are technically fetuses. Late term fetuses, except for the mid term fetuses like Briana. When preemies are able to survive outside the womb it is ALWAYS a major miracle. All girls considering abortion should visit a NICU first. Talk to the parents. SEE the babies - the ward for the babies close to discharge frequently have a viewing window. SHOW these girls physically that these are HUMAN BEINGS.
In fact, a documentary on the miracles and heartbreaks (our grandson, the other preemie, was almost one of those heartbreaks) which take place in the nation's NICUs every day should MANDATORY in ALL PUBLIC SCHOOLS.
Thanks for posting the pics Mom ;-) A footnote about Briana: she was one of the few who was able to be discharged from teh NICU BEFORE her actual due date. Anyone who believed PBA is medical procedure and NOT murder ought to be locked up and forcibly sterilized.
