5/20/07 updates

UPDATE 6:58am: Police have collapsed the crime scene around the church after finding 2 people dead inside. They believe at least one of those people was a shooter, but full details have not been released. Residents in the surrounding area have been told that it is ok to leave their houses as police now turn the crime scene into an investigation.

UPDATE 6:46am: Residents report hearing calls from the police via a bullhorn into anyone inside the church, asking them to lay down their weapons and give up. One witness also heard what sounded like the wooden doors on the front of the church being brokwn down.

An UNOFFICIAL report into the KREM 2 Newsroom says that a dead person was found inside the church, but that information has not been confirmed.

Church services scheduled for the First Presbyterian Church in Moscow, ID will be held at the Lionel Hampton School of Music, beginning at 11am.

UPDATE 5:55am: Police report that between 30-40 rounds were fired into the dispatch area of the Latah County Courthouse, but no one inside was hit by the gunfire.

Too bad our military are not allowed to do the same if the shooting is coming from a mosque in Iraq or Afghanistan, or if the weapons are coming in from Iran or Syria.

Video says that the shooter used a semi-automatic rifle, type unknown. Reports indicate 30-75+ rounds fired. I’m sure the Brady Bunch, Feinstein, Schummer, et. al. will be dancing in the blood on the Sunday morning shows. HR. 1022 just got a big boost.

No ID yet on the killer From looks of this, it *may* have been a full auto weapon.

My wife is a police/fire/EMS dispatcher in our city. This news didn't sit well with her. He boss frowns on having her CCW weapon at work, but frankly there are lots of nutballs with animus towards the police department. Any employee will do.
