So why should they give a rat's buttocks about this newest law?

In my post, which you quoted, I said, "Isn’t there a provision that punishes employers who hire illegals? If they can’t work, they may take this law seriously." You didn't answer that.

But more importantly, neither you nor most of the people talking about this bill, talk constuctively about fixing this problem. It is serious and getting worse. Here's a link to an article about Mexican drug dealers killing Mexican law enforcement officials.

“Isn’t there a provision that punishes employers who hire illegals? If they can’t work, they may take this law seriously.”

Are you even aware of the fact that there is already laws saying that illegals cannot work in this country and that employers who hire illegals can be fined? Haven’t you read the stories where Walmart and chicken processors have been fined for hiring illegals?

Have you seen how effective that law has been in keeping illegals from working in this country? The current law punishing employers who hire illegals is totally ineffective as anyone with even half a brain and the slightest knowledge of current events is well aware of, so there is absolutely no reason to think that any future law would be any more effective in keeping the illegals from working than the current law has been.

Get real, man!

Wake up and smell the coffee!

You are the most gullible person on the planet. You cannot see the different between window dressing and reality. Are you sure you know the difference between your elbow and other aspects of your anatomy?

“about fixing this problem”

Kick all the illegals out and shoot to kill anyone who attempts to cross our borders illegally. That should fix the problem in record time.

Sorry, ignored that part, just like employers ignore the provision in current law that forbids hiring illegals. The law that punishes those who hire illegals that is not enforced. So they don't take the law seriously now, why would they magically take the law seriously with this bill?

They are illegals. No law applies to them. Must have insurance to drive? Eh, ignore it. Must have a license? Ignored. It is a pattern - why suddenly obey one way when you've ignored so many others without penalty. And besides, eventually the gringos will just get rid of the laws that they've been ignoring, to make new ones to ignore.

40% of the illegals went for amnesty last time. 4 out of 10. Sixty percent just ignored it like they ignored every other law.

You can't reward criminals for their behavior. It just doesn't work, never will work.

As for Mexican drug cartels - what about child prostitution? The point is, you can name any number of social ills, and right at the center is a group of lawless people who continue to perform these acts because, hey, it's just yet another law to ignore.

But more importantly, neither you nor most of the people talking about this bill, talk constuctively about fixing this problem.

1. CONTROL THE BORDER. That means a fence. Build it.

2. Prosecute employers who hire illegals. Prosecute those who help illegals enter and provide them with fake documents. Prosecute those who knowingly shelter and aid illegals. Remove all federal funds from state and local governments that harbor and aid illegals.

4. Begin deporting the worst offenders. Those in prison who are being released. Those who have had felony convictions who we can find. Those picked up for offenses like DWI, no drivers license etc etc.

5.Pass a law that states that anyone caught in this country illegally is forever barred from legal residence or citizenship.

6. Remove the "anchor baby" provision.

Do that and many if not most illegals will head home voluntarily. As the "sea" in which the illegals swim shrinks it will get harder and harder for them to function.

How very like the liberal solution to gun control.

We can’t punish the law breakers, so we will CREATE a class
of lawbreakers we CAN punish.

It’s all nonsense, round them up and send them home.
