Don't worry about Iraq. We are surrendering to Mexico on Monday.
If the McCain/Kennedy immigration bill passes, we will have lost the Nation as we know it.
In 30 to 50 years, the descendents of the people who founded and built this country will be English-speaking aliens in their own land.
By surrendering on the legislation that will be voted on Monday 5/21 or Tuesday 5/22, the future of the United States will be turned over to the aliens in our midst.
Our liberal public benefits will selectively attract and support the most needy and reproductive segments of the Mexican population and our democratic political institutions will do the rest. It is not unreasonable to expect that within this century, the United States will effectively become an annex of Mexico.
The safeguards in the proposed legislation and the promises of the administration are worthless.
WE ARE FACING THIS CRISIS, NOT BECAUSE WE LACK THE PROPER LAWS, WE ARE FACING IT BECAUSE OUR REPUBLICAN PRESIDENT FAILED TO ENFORCE THE EXISTING LAWS. HIS LIKELY DEMOCRATIC SUCCESSOR WILL BE EVEN LESS INCLINED TO ENFORCE THEM.
PASSING MORE LAWS WILL SOLVE THIS PROBLEM.
If the Federal sanctions on employers and restrictions on public benefits to non-citizens were enforced--even now--the illegal immigration problem would be vastly reduced.
Our illegal immigration problem exists because our elected leaders failed to carry out their sworn duties.
There is still a chance for a filibuster to derail the Senate vote. A filibuster could only be overcome with the votes of 9 or 10 Republican Senators.
According to Michelle Malkin's website, these Senators could be key (http://michellemalkin.com/archives/007554.htm
I WOULD URGE YOU TO CALL OR E-MAIL THEM:
TN Lamar Alexander: http://alexander.senate.gov/index.cfm?FuseAction=Contact.Offices
SC Lindsey Graham: http://www.senate.gov/~lgraham/index.cfm?mode=presspage&id=274615
KY Mitch McConnell: http://mcconnell.senate.gov/contact.cfm
Mitch McConnell is the Republican leader in the Senate. More than anyone, he can lead a filibuster against this piece of legislation. If you don't contact anyone else, leave a message or an e-mail with his office.
MS Thad Cochran: http://cochran.senate.gov/contact.htm
TX John Cornyn: http://cornyn.senate.gov/index.asp?f=contact&lid=1
AZ John Kyl: http://kyl.senate.gov/contact.cfm
God Speed!
Do we have a list of the turncoat Republican senators who support this monstrosity vs those who oppose it?
In last years amnesty compromise, we got only 36 NAY votes, 3 of which were cast by Democrats. Six people that voted NAY last time are either no longer Senators or have announced they gave gone over to the dark side. The remaining NAY Senators from 2006 are:

41 seems like an unlikely number to obtain from the Senate.... The better chances would appear to be in the House, imo.
Michael Barone, US News and World Report has an interesting article on how the Senators voted on the 06 Immigration Bill and what maybe expected this time.

Excellent analysis. BTTT!
For him to lead a filibuster, he would need to extract his nose from McCain's ass
Very unlikely
Graham is a long lost cause. He’s said to La Raza that America is an idea, not a place.
These pr!cks should be watching over their shoulders. Lines are being drawn.
The GOP will be the 1st casualty of this farce that will forever change the face of America.
save
I can’t see why everyone is surprised. Bush even campaign for illegal aliens rights.
The loss of congress in 2006 did it i hope “they” learned there lesson and vote next time, a gop majoity would not pass this, elections have consequences
Bush’s legacy:
Save America from terrorists.
Sell out America to illegals.
WHAT IS WRONG WITH REPUBLICANS ANYMORE!!!
MEGABUMP!!!
If the McCain/Kennedy immigration bill passes, we will have lost the Nation as we know it.
I couldn't have said it any better myself.
This bill has to be stopped in the Senate because with the democrats in charge of the House we can’t be sure they won’t ram something through in the middle of the night.
I went to the site, noticed that it says if an emergency fax your comment.
Guess that means the e-mails may not be read or at least not anytime soon.
I’ve always wondered how many of the e-mails actually get read. It’s a lot better I think to call or snail mail them.
