NORFOLK - A Virginia Beach resident admitted in court to supplying illegal immigrants with phony green cards and other documents from a taco stand.
Narciso M. Salas pleaded guilty in U.S. District Court on Thursday to conspiracy and identity theft charges and faces up to seven years in prison when he is sentenced Aug. 8.
Over the past two years, hundreds of illegal immigrants received the documents, which are needed to gain employment, according to federal court records. Another 246 orders were recovered from Salas' home at the Colony Mobile Home Park.
Salas and his sister, Maria R. Salas, operated the El Taco Tote stand on the weekends in the 900 block of Virginia Beach Blvd.
The two would sell tacos and take document orders from the taco trailer, taking photos for the identification cards around the side of a nearby gas station, federal prosecutors said. Some of the green card registration numbers belonged to other immigrants who are in the country legally, the prosecutors said.
Maria Salas also pleaded guilty this month to the same two charges and also is scheduled for sentencing in August.
Besides green cards, other documents offered for sale were driver's licenses and Mexican voter registration cards.
Yo, vato, we got tacos and green cards!
Does Virginia Beach’s mayor get a finder’s fee for referrals?
He can be the new ‘Amnesty Czar.’
Wow. Where'd they get those registration numbers from? It couldn't possibly be that there's a conspiracy to undermine the laws of this country even among the legal residents.
Could there?
Nothing will come of this. Meanwhile in Las Vegas....

Oh, you ain't seen nothin' yet! Wait until one alien applies for his amnesty, under 47 other names so he can sell the ID to MORE aliens.
What a joke!
Bush will make sure this case is quashed. I wonder if he paid taxes on his sales of documents. One week after the z cards are printed , i will be able to get all i want downtown la. No joke . My guess 100 bucks..
I hope the tacos were tasty!
