The best way to stop Shamnesty [Vanity]
5/19/2007

Do you want to stop shamnesty dead in its tracks?

Don't let up on Congressmen and Senators, one bit.

But, aim additional political fire at GOP and Democrat party officials, at every level.

Precinct chairmen, County Chairmen, State Central Committee members, State Chairmen and Co-Chairmen, your state's Republican National Committee members, the Republican National Committee, the National Republican Senatorial Committee, and the National Republican Congressional Committee. Repeat with the Democrats as needed.

A simple google search will give you the email addresses, fax numbers, and telephone numbers of all of these movers and shakers.

You may not have access to our elected officials, but they do.

Why is your post ok while mine gets pulled?

****************
Is now the time to impeach Bush?

President Bush’s astonishing lack of interest protecting and securing America’s border seemed to have finally pushed conservatives and regular Americans into contemplating what was previously unthinkable: impeachment. The cause of this shift was his support for the recently passed Immigration Reform bill, which is basically granting amnesty to the 12 million or so illegal immigrants in the US.

Make no mistake, the Republican politicians who have helped pass this bill did so despite overwhelming opposition from rank-and-file Americans. Since the vast majority of illegal immigrants who will obtain their American citizenship will be voting for the Democratic Party for the foreseeable future; it now becomes highly unlikely the Republicans will regain power for at least a generation to come.
As a Canadian who intends on immigrating to the United States legally in a few years; I find it distasteful I will have to spend years and thousands of dollars paying fees and following the requirements of the laws before obtaining my citizenship while someone who breaks the law is moved to the front of the line.

I love the United States and think it is the greatest force for good among all nations in history. Never in history has a nation done so much for the benefit of others - especially its enemies. And yet I am puzzled as to why so many Americans despise your country when there is no other nation anywhere in history that has been better and more decent.

I personally like and respect President Bush but am dismayed that he seems unwilling to enforce your laws securing your borders despite it’s a constitutional requirement. Is the interests of big business for cheap labor more important than technological innovation and the security of your citizens?

Somebody at townhall.com.. I think.. said Mitch McConnell can use procedurals to shut this down for a year or more.
Put it off until presidential candidates have to take a stand on it.

“It amazes me that these pols so consistently misread what the majority of the public really wants. Then they mis-state what we want, then they act based on what they want.”

They know exactly what we want. They just don’t care.

May I suggest contacting them in this order: phone calls Faxes e-mail Phone calls are much, much more effective than anything else. One phone call is worth 20 faxes or at least 100 e-mails.

Although I've contacted pols mostly by e-mail, I suspect you're right about this. I wonder what your exact reasoning is, though - do you think phone calls have more of a visceral impact?

I called my congressman, Joe Knollenberg, on Friday (he is “opposed to the amnesty provisions”), and e-mailed Senator Deborah Stab-me-now, for what good that will do.

It isn't a bad idea to contact local party officials, I am county First Vice Chairman, I am livid about this insanity, as is my County Chairman, as is our State Chairman.

The State Chairman has some access to Congressmen, and Senators, those of us at county level don't. Our Congressman is a Demomarxist, we have no access to him. Our Republican Senators don't know us until they need help getting re-elected.

I would welcome calls, if I can tell the folks at State Hq I am getting calls it would reinforce their comments to the RNC, and our Senators.

One thing to note about written letters going to DC offices. Remember that all federal and congressional mail is first sent to an outside facility somewhere for screening and irradiation because of the 2001 anthrax scare. If you write to your Congresscritter at his or her DC office, then your letter will be delayed until it is cleared. The best way for written communications is to simply fax them your letter, for the most immediate effect.

Thanks EV. We should continue to fire proverbial shots across their bow before it becomes neccessary to fire the next shot heard around the world. Traitors beware. Blackbird.
