Jimmy Carter attacks Blair over Iraq
Herald Sun ^ | 19 May 2007

FORMER US president Jimmy Carter has attacked outgoing British Prime Minister Tony Blair for his "blind" support of the Iraq war, describing it as a "major tragedy for the world".

In an interview today with BBC radio, Mr Carter was asked how he would describe Mr Blair's attitude to US President George W. Bush. He replied: "Abominable. Loyal, blind, apparently subservient.

"I think that the almost undeviating support by Great Britain for the ill-advised policies of President Bush in Iraq have been a major tragedy for the world."

Mr Blair, who arrived in Baghdad today on an unannounced visit, has suffered politically and personally since declaring his support for Mr Bush after the September 11, 2001 attacks in the United States.

His backing of the war despite massive public opposition divided his governing Labour Party while the absence of weapons of mass destruction - the basis for war - and apparent manipulation of intelligence eroded trust.

There was further discontent last year when he joined Mr Bush in refusing to back international calls on Israel to stop its bombing of Lebanon.

Waits for Tony to step down to do this? Coward or trying to preempt Blair from taking over the World Bank job?

Well, what do you expect from a pacifist suffering from acute dementia?

Jimmah ought to just enjoy life relaxing in Plains and leave the Foriegn Policy to the younger folk.

Two wise rules the traitor Democrats no longer follow:

1. Politics stop at the edge of the water.

2. Ex-presidents keep their mouths shut.

Oh, and a few dozen more, but those are the ones that come to mind in this case.

Something happened in 1968 and it seems as if a third of our country is brain dead. As far as I know, Jimmy Carter was not at Woodstock, but he might as well have been. His brains are fried.

Jimmy Carter ..."blind"... a "major tragedy for the world"..."Abominable".

In his own words. I couldn't have said it better.

Reagan won the overall by almost 10 points, 50.7% to 41%, and he trounced Carter 489 to 49 in the Electoral College.

The real questions to answer are: Which of these two men, Blair or Carter is the smartest?  Which has access to the most current information? Which of these two moved his country forward?  Which left a stronger economy? Which one allowed crazy ayatollahs to take over a country? Which one allowed terrorism on a state level to run rampant and unchecked?  Which one convinced North Korea to give up nukes, lol?

Which one should sane and intelligent people listen to?  (Excuse the dangling participle.)

I’m beginning to wonder who’s blind. I don’t think it is Tony.

Jimmy Carter claims to be a Christian, but I notice he is getting nastier and nastier. He does like to name call and hits below the belt.
