Major Garrett just mentioned this on Fox News. Evidently Cornyn was angry at McCain for leaving him out of the loop. McCain responded with a profanity-laced retort.
Well, his daddy had a rep for being a wimp. I would think he’d be sensitive about aquiring that same label.
It’s sad that many have never heard of Sam Johnson and his genuine heroism. I guess Dims like Kerry, Webb, and Murtha and RINOs like McCain and Hagel are the only veterans that get recognition from the media. Many people don’t know about Duncan Hunter’s war heroism either.
I lubs dat moobie!
I’ve obviously missed a heck of day on Freep... darn that work obligation!
The MSM, LBJ, the Left and the Rockefeller wing smeared Goldwater as a “crazy man” who was not fit to be President. It was a lie. McLame really is a crazy man who is not fit to be President.
McNuggets a profane man? I don’t believe it.
At a bipartisan gathering in an ornate meeting room just off the Senate floor, McCain complained that Cornyn was raising petty objections to a compromise plan being worked out between Senate Republicans and Democrats and the White House. He used a curse word associated with chickens and accused Cornyn of raising the issue just to torpedo a deal.
Things got really heated when Cornyn accused McCain of being too busy campaigning for president to take part in the negotiations, which have gone on for months behind closed doors. “Wait a second here,” Cornyn said to McCain. “I’ve been sitting in here for all of these negotiations and you just parachute in here on the last day. You’re out of line.”
McCain, a former Navy pilot, then used language more accustomed to sailors (not to mention the current vice president, who made news a few years back after a verbal encounter with Sen. Patrick Leahy of Vermont).
“[Expletive] you! I know more about this than anyone else in the room,” shouted McCain at Cornyn. McCain helped craft a bill in 2006 that passed the Senate but couldn’t be compromised with a House bill that was much tougher on illegal immigrants.
Some FReepers didn’t believe me when I posted that Cornyn was opposed to this amnesty bill. I think this shows that he is one of the bill’s fiercest opponents in the Senate.
Hell.....
“There IS no article. This was reported minutes ago on FOX by a correspondent.”
Where did you get the headline?
There IS no article. This was reported minutes ago on FOX by a correspondent.
Then why did you state “foxnews.com” as the source?
Thanks for posting the source, on blog.washingtonpost.com - NOT foxnews.com like harwood posted, then later said was not an article but reported on TV. That type of deception lends incredibility to posts. Certainly, McCains inability to hold his tongue is not what we want in the White House!
Thanks. I used to like McCain, and still do in some ways. But this betrayal dooms his candidacy forever.
McCain may as well run for the Democratic nomination after his involvement in this amnesty-fest.
Unless things are even worse than I imagined, there shouldn’t be any way he could get the Pubbie nomination after crapping on the base of the party this way.
If he does, then we know all hope is lost for any sanity on our side.
