Mitt Romney:

"If you want to get something done in Washington you don't end up picking teams, with Republicans on one side, and Democrats on the other... I don't like winners and losers in Washington. I'd rather say 'Let's get together and work together.'"

13 years ago.....

How about all of the Republicans who voted it in then turned around and sold out?

Whenever Democrats and Republicans work together, it just means they take more of the money I work for alone.

I fail to see the difference between that and the “uniter, not a divider” rhetoric of the Bush administration.

Any candidate for President who speaks positively about “bipartisanship” earns an instant trip to my “no way in h*ll” list.

Did you vote for the "New Tone" guy? I think we've all learned something about "getting along" over the last 13 years. The current president still hasn't learned. I'd like to hear Romney's position today. What a non-story.

Partisanship means freedom for the people. It means everyone has capable representation. Bipartisanship means it’s the government against the people.

George W. Bush did not oppose the Contract with America.

But beyond that, how's "bipartisanship" working out for you?

How's the ideological idealism working out for you?

“I fail to see the difference between that and the “uniter, not a divider” rhetoric of the Bush administration.”

Exactly. I don’t find this statement that disturbing.

Sorry to hear that. You may wnat to reconsider. Maybe Mitt and Fred would be a good team.

With close numbers in the House and the Senate, there will be no real reform without real bipartisanship. Too often, what we are seeing isn’t an effort to find solutions, but rather insults and purely partisan politics. There are many good and responsible people in government who are willing to work together – but the level of bipartisanship needed for real progress can only be achieved when politicians perceive that the American people demand it.

Yeah, but with Mitt, it's "through the looking glass."

How's the one liners working out for us?

This is getting pathetic. We might as well stop now.
